Slowly, but surely falling in love

As I was about to knock on the door Casita opened its doors and pushed us inside. I saw Camilo on the stairs being teased by his sister. She probably called him Love boy or something. I sort of introduced my dad to Felix and Augustin bit to overwhelm him too much and left. Mirabel, Camilo, and I went up to his room. I heard some laughing downstairs so I think everything was going well. I looked at his record collection and asked "Can I play a record?" "Yeah go for it,".

"If you were to sleepover tonight Y/N where would you sleep?" "Well I think the only way my dad would say yes is that either I slept with Mirabel or you two slept with each other, but I think it's be best if Mirabel and I slept on Camilo's bed and you slept on the couch," "Sure I don't really care, I mean I do care, but not about where I sleep," he said with a bit of a laugh. I think he was a bit nervous, but so was I. Dolores called us down for dinner and I was about to grab Camilo's hand to walk downstairs, but I remembered that my dad was there so I put it back to my side.

As we sat down I noticed my dad was already sitting down with Augustin and Felix so I sat in between Camilo and Antonio. I looked at Antonio for a few seconds and thought no wonder he's Mirabel's favorite cousin he's adorable. He had some similarities to his siblings, but they all had their differences. Julietta and Pepa put the food on the table. I served myself and when I sat back down I felt Camilo's hands go on my thigh. I liked it it gave me butterflies, but they were happy butterflies.

We started eating and it was all going well nobody mentioned us being together, but then someone asked "So, uhm, Y/N what's your mom been up ?" I think I saw my dad almost choke on his food and I started to feel really bad. Camilo looked at me concerned. He rubbed my thigh a bit calming me down and said "I think that's a bit of a sore subject for the Munoz's," "Oh uhm im sorry," I figured out that it was Augustin who asked. He seemed a bit embarrassed and sorry. I made eye contact with Mirabel and she gave a smile the rest of dinner I just tried to hold it together and make it through.

After eating my dad came up to me and asked when I wanted to leave and I asked him "Could I please sleepover tonight. It's spring break. Mirabel and I would sleep together in Camilo's bed and he would sleep on his couch," "Uhm," by now Camilo and Mirabel were beside me and we said "Pleasee," together. He looked at me and said "Oh alright. I got to know their dads and they seem like a really nice family," we looked at each other and said "Yes". I told them to come to my house with me to get some stuff for the night

I got my stuff for the night and the next day. I wanted to say hi to Maria, but I couldn't find her. Which was normal she was an outside cat. We went back to Casita and set up the couch and stuff for the night. Antonio knocked on the door and came in. He told me that Maria came over while we weren't here. I asked "Are you sure it was my cat?" Not that I didn't believe him Maria doesn't come here often. "Yeah her collar said Maria," "Ok, did she let you pet her?" "Yeah," "She doesn't let many strangers pet her. You must be lucky," "Yay," and then he left.

I noticed that Camilo cleaned his room for tonight. "I'm going to get a glass of water from the kitchen do one of you guys want one?" "Sure," Mirabel said. I was making my way down and I accidentally bumped into a painting on the wall and behind it was a hole. I was curious, but then a rat passed by my foot and went in. It startled me so I decided to get the waters and go back. I handed Mirabel her water and she thanked me. I sat down next to Camilo on the couch.

We talked for a little but it wasn't that late and Antonio came in. "Mirabel?" "Yes Antonio?" "I need you," "Ok what do you need help with?" "Can you please come with me?" "Ok," once they left Camilo said "Sometimes I think he likes her more than me," "They do have a special bond, but you're his older brother, he can look up to you," "I don't know much about having siblings from not having any". He went to the bathroom. I played a different record while I was waiting.

Mirabel came back and told us that she wasn't going to be able to spend the night with us which was sort of a good thing because I didn't want to make her feel like she third- wheeling, but I just said "Oh is everything alright?" "Yeah It's just Antonio wants me to stay in the nursery with him tonight," "oh ok". After she left I asked "Hey want to go for a walk or something?" "Sure," we went downstairs and Felix was downstairs doing who knows what. We just quickly slipped outside and started walking.

I enjoy walking through the village at night. With the streetlights on and the people busy inside the streets are empty. You guys hold hands walking up and down the streets. You guys talk about the future and the past and stuff. You learn all this new stuff about Camilo slowly but surely falling in love with him. He asks you "Us there anything you want to talk about?" by now you guys are almost at the Casita. "Do you ever feel like you act a different version of yourself for different people and forget who's the real you?"

He looked at me and then asked "Do you feel like this?" He asked concerned. "Hey I asked you first," "Have I ever felt like this yes, with my gift sometimes I forget who I am, but when I come back to Casita it comes back to me. I don't feel like this often, but sometimes," you looked down "I sort of understand you, with my dad being strict I feel like I have to be perfect for him, but then when I'm not with him I try to be my true self, but I don't know who that is, so I act differently for everyone that way they like me". "Y/N," I knew he wanted to say more, but couldn't he just gave me hug a really tight hug. It was really comforting and I felt a bit better.
