Chapter 10: True Intensions

Wile E sees this and quickly gets up to check up on Road Runner. He doesn't really know what he's doing but the words that Road Runner shared with Wile E via his wooden sign and his actions to go out of his way to save Wile E despite his sudden betrayal let him know Road Runners' true nature and characteristics. It made him forget this silly idea he's been carrying around for some time now that he's less worthy and deserving of admiration. This made him act quickly to find a way to help him out while also finding a way to deal with Marvin. He ponders for a while before deciding to finally make his move in the only way he truly knows how and that is to set up an elaborate trap. Fortunately, Marvin was too busy assisting K-9 in repairing him so that he could go back into the fight giving Wile E enough time to put his plan into action. He starts luring Marvin into a seemingly open area when with just one pull of a rope Marvin's fate was sealed. After an elaborate and comically long chain of events that involved a giant elephant, some string, a ladder, a bowling ball, some hot sauce, and some mice among other things, had Marvin trapped in a giant electrical cage that he is unable to escape from.

Marvin: Curse you, you wretched earth creature. You have no idea what you just cost me.

Before Wile E could ask him what he meant by that another ship comes in and swoops away an injured K-9 into thin air. Marvin is shown to be in distress as his punishment now known to Wile E for failing his bounty would be that his partner in crime K-9 will be taken away and be executed. He tries to fight Wile E and break out of his cage in a fit of rage however Wile E is able to calm him down by showing the damage he's done to his newfound friend.

Wile E picks up the Road Runner and takes him near the cage and shows him how damaged he is.

Marvin: Oh dear, it seems that I got a little carried away. My deepest apologies, here let me help. Marvin takes out a blaster with a label that says "The painkiller 3,000".

Marvin: There you go that should keep you from feeling the effects of your wounds for a while but I advise you to take your friend here to a doctor as soon as possible since this blaster is only a temporary solution to your injuries.

With this new information that Marvin shared with him, he assumes that they must have been watching their whole fight since the very beginning and are more than likely sending reinforcements as they speak.

So after talking to Marvin for a bit his suspicions have been confirmed and Marvin lets him know that if it weren't for their constant surveillance on his every move he wouldn't have taken the bounty and just tried to find a way back home. However, they happened to land near their base so they had no other choice but to join them. They made it clear that they had a way to permanently destroy a toon entirely if they weren't willing to cooperate with them.

Marvin: There so close to finding a way to harness the power that we possess as I was, unfortunately, able to see their progress as they were experimenting on a poor light purple dog that had a hole in its teeth (possibly one of the side effects from the constant tests) that screamed in agony while their head scientist was writing down their findings.

Marvin: I didn't want that to happen to me or my trusty K-9 so I made it my mission to do anything in my power to try to prevent that but at last I've failed him and the thought of them torturing him fills me with so much rage but at last their mistake was letting me Scott free.

Marvin: I won't stop until I get my partner back and this time I shall not spare a single soul from my wrath and then they'll be the ones who will fear me.

Wile E puts Road Runner down, now able to stand and walk on his two feet, and starts letting Marvin know that this has been happening to every toon they happen to capture and that their not the only ones who got stuck here. After the way Road Runner opened up to him without even using words just using signs and his pure facial features, Wile E realizes that this time Marvin is telling truth about the reason why he was acting this way so he tells him that they should join forces since he knows where one of their bases are and with their combine strength they'll be able to rescue his partner and many others from their grasp. Marvin agrees and apologizes again before taking them back to his ship where they plan to regroup with the others.
