Ransom never felt more humiliated before in his life. What gave you the right—no, the audacity—to think that you could leave him, Hugh Ransom Drysdale, at the altar? He had the power, and now the desire, to make your life a living hell. You knew that. And you still chose to cross him? To make a fool of him? In front of all his friends and family?

God, it made his blood fucking boil.

He remembered standing there, watching as the groomsmen and the bridesmaids walked down the aisle, parting to their respective sides when they reached the altar. Then, the officiant told everyone to rise for the bride. And the music began to play. And play. And play. Whispers fell over the crowd, everyone wondering where you were. Was there an accident? Something wrong with the dress, or your hair, or your makeup? Were you getting a last minute pep talk? Then Meg stepped into the aisle, her mother grabbing her arm, trying to stop her, but Meg continued on.

She walked up to the altar, turning to the crowd, and announced, "There will be no wedding. While Y/N was getting ready to marry the complete loser up here, he was in the middle of making plans to run off with his mistress. And, unlike this loser, Y/N has class and she would never stoop so low as to marry a serial cheater."

The room filled his gasps. Ransom's eyes widened. How did you find out? He had wracked his brain, trying to figure it out, when it dawned on him. He'd seen Meg while he was getting ready, telling her to go get his phone. It took her much longer than it should have been to find it and bring it to him. The little bitch snitched on him.

Oh well. At least now he could go on his honeymoon with Kitty and actually have fun than deal with you.

His family still wouldn't let him live it down. Especially when he officially started dating Kitty. When he had been dating you, he was sure that they hated you. They nitpicked and complained and did what they did best—made you feel like complete shit. But now that he was with Kitty? It was like you had placed the goddamn stars in the sky. Kitty was constantly compared to you. You were smart, you had a degree, you went to a prestigious university, you were doing something with your life, while Kitty was a gold digger, dropped out of school, only cared about buying and spending and wasting the family money. It was all bullshit!
