She's on my Mind

Sebastian

God it was hard to focus in class this morning. I had made my way to the breakroom as my class was in lunch and recess right now.
I went to the fridge and grabbed my lunch. I sat down and took off my glasses as I ran my hands over my face.

"Ohhhh I know that look" Mary said.
I let out a sigh and looked up at her.

"What look?" I asked. She ignored until she put her food in the microwave.

"Come on Sebastian. I know that look. Who's the special girl you can't have?" She asked.
Why does it always seem like they know? Is this a woman thing? I just shook my head and stabbed my fork into my food.
She laughed as she grabbed her food from the microwave. She came over and sat down next to me.

"Come on I'm curious. The Sebastian King that we have known for years is frustrated for the first time. History is made today" Mary said.

"Mary come on, cut me some slack. It was hard enough to focus in class this morning after she left. I would appreciate it if you didn't lecture me this time" I said as I took a bite of my food.

"Oh...OH! It's a students mom!" Mary said.
  I let out a breath.

"Yeah a really good looking one too" I mumbled as I took another bite of my food.

"Alright now I'm intrigued. Who is she?" Mary asked.

"Its one of my students guardian" I said. Her face immediately went into a smile.

"You mean Forest's Guardian don't you?" She asked. I looked at her surprised she even knew who I was talking about.

"Yeah, how did you know that?" I asked.

"I have access to the files remember. She's been his caregiver ever since he was six months old. It's sad with the way she had to get him though. I don't blame you on looking at her though. She gorgeous" Mary said.

I looked at her. It was strange how this woman was making me fall for her, even when she wasn't doing anything.

"Sebastian" Mary said. I shook my head and looked at her.

"Yes, what?" I asked. She just looked at me and smiled. She stood up and threw her food away and then put her hand on my shoulder.

"I know that look from anywhere. My husband and I had given each other that look when we first met each other. Let me tell you something. If you want to ask her out, there is nothing in the school rules that says you can't. Just to let you know" Mary said.
I watched as she left the room. I thought that was against the rules? Where did she read that at? I'll look through my paper work and see if it says anything.
I continued to eat my lunch.

Norah

I rubbed my eyes as I lean back in my chair. I have been editing this book for about a hour in a half now. I'm only a quarter of the way through editing.
There was a knock on my door.

"Ugh this better not be like yesterday" I mumbled to myself.

"Come in" I said. The door opens and I see Keith one of the assistant editors come in.

"Hello Keith. Is there something I can do for you?" I asked.

"Um...someone has been banging on our front door for the pass two hours and I cant get ahold of Maverick or Josh" Keith said.
I let out a sigh. I had told Maverick and Josh to take the day off from watching our business here.

"Okay, I will head down and take care of it. Thank you Keith" I said.

He nodded his head and shut the door behind him.

"God, I swear. It seems like i can never get a break from anything" I mumbled as I grabbed my gun from my desk.
I pulled my shirt up and put my gun in my holster and put my shirt back down. Even though we are allowed to carry, I still don't like my employees to see me carry.
I made my way down the stairs and to the front of the building.
I had my hand on my gun, just in case I needed it. I reached for the door.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"Norah please" Jade said. I let my hand fall from gun and open the door to see her crying.

"You know you got sent to jail for being around here. Why are you here again?" I asked.
I walked out the door and shut it, using my body from keeping her from going inside.

"Please, I need help. I can't find anywhere that will help me" Jade said.

"Why don't you go into a rehab center?" I asked.

"I can't find one...please Norah. I really want to change" Jade said.
I let out a sigh and pinch the bridge of my nose.

"Look...this is absolutely the last time I am helping you. I will do some research and find you the best one that I can, but you can't keep coming around here" I said. Her frown slowly turned into a smile.

"Thank you...thank you Norah. This means a lot to me. I just paid back all the money that I owned to my supplier...and I told him I wasn't going to be buying anymore" Jade said.
I looked at her. How was she able to pay them off?

"How were you able to pay them off?" I asked.

"I had done some odd jobs around town, and was able to get enough money to pay them off" Jade said.
I looked at her. I then let out a sigh.

"Look give me until Sunday to find you rehab center or something. After that I will figure it out, but if you're really going to change this time. Then I need to see one hundred percent effort" I said.
  She nodded her head quickly.
