Nichole's POV
A month later
It's been a month since the day Sammie was brought to the hospital. I couldn't just stop going to school because I know Sammie would disapprove. So everyday after school I was here, waiting for her to wake up.
Hell I pretty much live here in her hospital room, I stay every night just sitting here doing what I have to as far as schoolwork. I get up in the mornings shower in her hospital bathroom, get ready for school and I leave.
My morning routine also includes me kissing her forehead, promising I'll be back after school. Then when I get back to the hospital I sit down and tell her about what's been going on in school.
Everyone misses her, she was a genuinely nice, amazing girl. Every guy wanted to be her and all the girls wanted her.
I'm pulled out of my thoughts when a woman around her late 40's walks into the room clearing her throat. I look at her and my jaw clenches shut, as my hands ball into a fist.
"What are you doing here, it's only been a month since she has been in here." I say just glaring at her. "I didn't know what to do when I found out what happened to her." She said while putting her head down.
I scoff at her chuckling a bit. "You would think you're first instinct would be to come here, seeing she is your daughter after all. It has been a month since she has been in here, where the hell were you then?! Oh. That's right to busy fucking your boyfriend right?"
Her head shot up to look at me, her face was red from anger. "You have no right to talk to me like that. She is my daughter, if anything you have no right to be here."
I can't believe she just said that, I have every right to be here. I was the one taking care of Sammie from the very beginning. I just wanted to reach right over and give this damn woman a good smack.
I shake my head in disbelief. "I have every right to be here. I took care of Sammie ever since the accident at the game. Again, where were you when she needed you?"
She just looked at me about to open her mouth but she was cut short by another voice.
Sammie's POV
Ugh I've been in darkness for to long. Why can't I escape!! I screamed at the top of my lungs, the only sound I heard was my voice echoing.
Every so often I would see a bright light but as soon as I start walking, then jogging, then running to it. I was so close every time, I can hear a voice, it's hers! "Nichole I'm coming, I can hear you baby!" Just as I would reach my hand out the light would disappear.
For so long I would just sit here waiting for light. As if it was magic it reappeared, there it is! I got up and started running full speed towards the light. I'm gunna make it this time, I started to hear yelling. Who is there I thought to myself.
"You have no right to talk to me like that. She is my daughter, if anything you have no right to be here." Mom? Who was she fighting With.
"I have every right to be here. I took care of Sammie ever since the accident at the game. Again, where were you when she needed you?" Nichole, that's who she was fighting with. I have to make it this time! A few more strides from running I was in the light. Yes, finally I fucking made it!!!
I open my else slowly listening to them still arguing. I looked around seeing machines hooked up to me. I grabbed the tube that was down my throat and I pulled it out gagging a little. Ew that was gross and weird feeling, ah these two are going to get it!
"That's enough!" The fighting stopped and the both looked at me like they just seen a ghost.
"I heard about enough from you both. Mother it's nice to see you know how to show up after I don't know how long. The only voice I remember ever hearing was Nichole's. She is right, she has been here since the beginning. So yes she has a right to be here as well as you do. Now if one of you would please go tell the doctor I'm awake that would be great. Oh and no more fighting, I don't need it."
