14. Lovesick Puppy

"Shankar, hum kaha jaa rahe hai?" Sona asked her driver when he turned the opposite way, this was never the route to her house. She was taking a nap but when she woke up, she found herself in a deserted road, with all buildings just being constructed or deserted.

"Kacche raste se lagke highway hai, Ma'am, naya shortcut hai." He hesitated as he said that, not meeting Sonakshi's eyes and being more visibly uncomfortable.

Sona knew there was something wrong here, especially because she knew Shankar, her driver, since a decade now and he always hesitated when he lied or was nervous and she knew he was lying, "Shankar, what is happening?"

"I am sorry Ma'am, but I need to drop you at this lane." Shankar said, taking a swift right as they halted at a empty roadside with no one in site.

Before Sona could even worry, there was a bang on the window and before she knew it, the guy from outside opened the door and Sona felt her heart in her mouth with that jump scare but it was Rohit who stood out. "Thanks Shankar," Rohit said pulling Sona out in a swift and carried her over her shoulder, like a bag of onions, "you are a real homie."

Rohit held Sona, wrapping her waist as she lay upside down, hitting him on his back, yelling at him to put her down but he was not paying any heed. He carried her all the way up to the last built floor which was thankfully the third floor, and ropes hanging on his other shoulder. After all of Sona's yelling, and threatening and cursing and yelling again, Rohit chuckled, as he tied her up tightly and when she was pinned to the chair well, he took a deep breath and sat opposite to her, hands folded and a smirk pasted on his face.

"Sona, come on, you need to tell me why are you just suddenly throwing me out of your life and not even a reason for the same?" Rohit met her fiery gaze, "Sona, you should have seen this coming, you think Rohit Sippy will just let go of his best friend?"

"Rohit you have lost it," Sona said, struggling to get out of the ropes, her hair messy and her anger rising. "Tum pagal ho gaye ho."

"Main hamesha se pagal hu," Rohit replied back, shaking his head, "you knew that before we became friends, right?'

"Rohit, please, I am getting scared now." Sona said, as it was getting darker. "Please, chod do mujhe. Mumma bhi tensed hogi and..."

"You don't worry about anyone else right now, and you are free to go, Sona, once you answer my questions, you are free to go." Rohit said, much serious now as he neared his chair and kept his book down. "In fact, I myself will drop you home, safe and sound, just answer my questions..."

"I don't want to answer any questions and I don't think I need to explain myself, you get that? Not even to you!" Sona was tired now, it had been two hours since she was tied here, in a strange place, with Rohit right in front of her and demanding answers to questions he was not ready to hear. "Rohit, you know I hate being in the dark,"
