When I left the apartment Hyram was already gone. It wasn't a surprise, but it still hurt like hell. I went back to Cyberlife clutching the note that I had written to myself close to my chest. I couldn't give up now. This was going to be the change the world needed.
I walked into the building holding my head high, and there was a large number of protective services in the lobby. I began to wonder if something had happened, but then suddenly didn't care. I forced myself past most of them and started to go to the elevator when I was grabbed by the arm.
"Where the hell have you been?" Agent 47 asked urgently spinning me around.
"My whereabouts are none of your business." I pulled my arm from his grasp and began to walk to the elevator again.
"We're under lockdown as of now! No one gets in or out without my say so. Dr. King since you have a minored in psychology, maybe you could be of some assistance." The agent grabbed me by the arm again and pulled me with him to the elevator.
"What the hell is going on?" I asked.
"Someone got into the building, a woman. She's armed and holding Thompson hostage. Agent 47, level 43."
The elevator quickly began moving. Thompson in a hostage situation. I could only imagine what he did, to deserve that. I folded my arms and remained silent as we reached the floor. I followed the agent to Thompson's room where the door was ajar. He stopped me just before I could enter and began speaking through the doorway.
"This is Agent 47. I have Silva King with me. Can we enter?"
There was a long pause before a trembling voice responded, "Only she can enter. No one else. If I see another person I'll jump!"
The suited man cursed under his breath and looked at me. I shrugged absent mindedly in response. He took off his helmet and passed me his earpiece. "I want to hear everything. I'll walk you through what to do."
"Sure."
"We have a woman with standing on the balcony, holding Thompson hostage with a gun to his brain! If you aren't going to take this seriously, then get your ass back downstairs!"
"Maybe you shouldn't have let an armed woman into the building."
"I'm not going to wait much longer! He ruined my life! He doesn't get to live! HE DOESN'T GET TO LIVE!"
"She's breaking and fast give me the damn earpiece!" I took it from the agent, shoving it in my ear and rushed inside the room. Straight ahead I was met with a familiar woman. Her hazel eyes looked wild and erratic as she held a gun to Thompson's temple and was standing close to the edge of his balcony.
"Hi, Ally. It's nice to see you again," I said cautiously with my hands raised.
" 'Nice to see you again?' I have a gun pointed to my head, and all you can say is nice to see you?" Thompson raged, and Ally hit him with the gun, and took the safety off.
Now that the safety was off the gun, talking her down would be a lot harder. Almost anyone could have persuaded her, but now she was prepared to take action.
"I know you're frustrated Ally. He used you, right? He made you into a sex toy, and now you are the one suffering from it. Am I right?"
"You're not-"
"Thompson! Shut the fuck up! You have no right to talk!" I cut him off, and took a step closer to Ally as she got distracted by him.
"Why would you let him release that android? I thought you were in charge here!"
"I'm sorry Ally, but I'm not the one in charge. What I can do though is repair the damage that this asshole has done, and make sure it never happens again. Just tell me what happened."
