Josh's P.O.V.
I grab Jen's waist and pull her body close to mine as I continue to kiss her. God, have I craved her touch. It's nice here. Just the two of us. I can tell she is enjoying it, too. I move my hand up and down her leg as we make out. She lets one of her hands rest on my neck and the other on my back. Then comes a knock on the door. Again.
"Fuck," I say. "Why does this always happen when we make out?"
"I don't know, but if it's your parents we better hurry."
"Alright." As Jen gets up from the bed, I fix the sheets then quickly lay back down.
"Who is it?" I call.
"It's just me." I recognize Connor's voice right away. He waltzes in the door just as Jen sits down in one of the chairs near my bed. "I hope you guys didn't make out too much."
"Shit, Con, how'd you know?" I ask. Jen has an embarrassed look on her face.
"Well, I heard you two talking before I walked in. And, Josh, I know you. There's no way you'd pass up an opportunity to make out with a hot girl while you're alone in a room together."
"Whatever," I reply.
"So I was right?" Connor asks with a smirk.
"Yeah, you were right. Do you want a prize?"
"Actually, I do, if you want me to keep this from mom and dad."
"Oh please. You don't have the balls to tell them." I respond, knowing full well that Connor won't tell my parents.
"Yeah, yeah. Just this once, Josh, since you're hurt." He uses air quotes as he says that last part.
"Thanks. Where are mom and dad anyway?"
"They're getting food for you and Jen. I think they're getting pizza. Mom wouldn't stop crying over you last night, Josh. I told her she should just go visit you if she's so upset. But, I guess she didn't care that much because she stayed home. How's that feel, Mr. Always-Likes-to-be-the-Center-of-Attention? Anyway, mom and dad have some play to go to later tonight so don't expect them to stay long. I've been assigned babysitter tonight. But, if you and Jen want to get cozy again, by all means, I'll give you two some privacy."
"We'd love that." I say sarcastically.
"Good because I have places to be and people to see so once mom and dad leave, I'm out." All of a sudden my parents walk in with a pizza.
"Oh, Joshy, we were so worried about you! I'm so, so sorry we couldn't visit last night! How are you?" My mom gushes. "Jennifer, thank you so much for staying with him." Before Jen can say anything, though, Connor speaks up.
"Oh, they definitely enjoyed their time together." My parents give him quizzical looks. I just stare at him. If looks could kill.
"Well, Josh, you look a lot better! I'm sure Connor already told you, and I'm really sorry we can't stay long. Your mother and I have play to go to." My dad tells me. "Connor can stay with you, though."
"Great," I say.
"Help yourselves to some pizza." My mom says, opening the box of pizza. I grab a plate for Jen and put a slice of pizza on it. I reach over and hand it to her.
"Thanks." She smiles then begins to eat. I serve myself a slice, too, then take a huge bite. I haven't had good food in so long. This hospital stuff sucks. My parents and Connor each join Jen in one of the chairs by my bed. My mom begins small talk with Jen and my dad and Connor turns on the TV. University of Kentucky, my favorite college basketball team, is playing. About halfway into the game, my parents get up to leave.
"We'll see you either later tonight or tomorrow morning when you're discharged from here. One of us will text you, though. Are you staying here, Jennifer?" My mom asks.
"Yes. My parents left this morning to go away for the weekend. They're visiting some old college friends. Ben and Blaine know I'm here, though." Jen replies.
"Alright. You kids have a good time."
"You too." I say. My mom gives me a kiss before leaving. My dad follows her out.
"Okay, I'm going to my friend's house. I'm getting picked up here. Text me if you need me." And with that, he too is gone.
"Finally," I sigh. Jen laughs. "Hey, cutie. Come here." Jen gets up and walks to her side of the bed. She grabs a piece of pizza on the way over. We watch the game until it's over, then turn off the TV. The pizza has long since been finished, and it's entry box is sitting on my bedside table. I pull Jen into my arms. She sighs.
"What do you want to do?" I ask her.
"Just lay here with you sounds good."
"Okay." I smile.
"I love you." She says.
"I love you, too."

Hey guys! I hope you liked this chapter. Please keep in mind that Connor is older then he would actually be. He is almost a junior(16 years old) when in real life, if Josh was almost a senior(17 years old), Connor would be 13. Anyway, please vote and comment! And Happy (late) Easter to those of you who celebrate it! Thanks so much! Ily guys!~Avery :)
