Josh's P.O.V.
It's Friday morning. I'm taking Jen to a surprise destination tonight, so I've got to start getting ready. She's never going to guess where we're going. I can't wait to see the look on her face when I arrive to pick her up.
I hop in the shower after eating a quick breakfast and do some summer homework for a while. At around 3 I send a text to Jen.
Hey. Is it alright if I pick you up around 4:30?
Sure! She replies.
Okay, see you then!
See you later!
I pack the stuff I need into my car and wait for 4:30 to arrive. At 4:15 I say goodbye to my family and head to Jen's. When I arrive I walk up to her front door. Before I even get the chance to knock, Jen's dad opens the door.
"Hello, Josh." He says, inviting me into the foir.
"Hello, Mr. Lawrence."
"Jen should be right down."
"Alright," I respond. A few minutes later Jen walks down the stairs in a beautiful blue sundress. "You look gorgeous." I tell her.
"Thanks," Jen replies, blushing.
"You ready to go?" I ask.
"Yeah. By mom, by dad!" Jen calls to her parents as we walk out the door. "So where are you taking me tonight, Hutch?"
"Somewhere special." I say, not wanting to give anything away just yet.
"Must be," Jen says smiling. She turns on the radio and a Coldplay song comes on. Jen immediately, of course, starts singing at the top of her lungs. A few minutes later I join in. We sing song after song on the radio until we arrive at our destination.
"We're here." I say.
"Josh! You didn't!"
"I did." I say, beaming.
