One problem, I have been faced with a dilemma a lot of other authors have faced. When I finish this book, I have 2 choices: Do I continue my serie and pretend as though Spy School At Seas never happened or do I continue my series like Spy School At Seas' events occured after this book OR do I start a new series where I pretend Spy School: In Antarctica and Spy School: Across the Seas (Really similar name I know, but it's just luck. By the way these are books I wrote.) never existed and start writing after Spy Shool At Seas? I currently think I should do the second option where Spy School At Seas happened after this book. Enjoy this chapter! Merry Christmas!
Chapter 21
Airspace of Zhongnanhai
0730 hours
We were right above the house of the premier of China. This was strikingly similar to the mission before the mission that was before my last mission. Where my team had to invade Washington airspace on a military helicopter. Erica had taken out a radio interceptor from her utility belt, and Erica translated for me that there were several Chengdu J-20 Chinese fighter jets on the way.
"Are you sure this will work?!" Asked Shayla. It has been around 3 and a half hours since we took off from Austin's farm. En route I explained my plan to both Erica and Shayla. It was simple: we go to where the premier lives, and we parachute down and then use Erica's super incredible spy skills to take out the guards. Force the premier to not believe the audit logs that SKORPION sent him and call off the plans to war. Then explain everything to him after that, because we don't have that kind of time to do it beforehand.
Overall, this was shaping up to be an exact replica of my mission in Washington, and I hope - like my mission in Washington - that I succeed this time as well.
"Uh, 95% sure." I replied, in truth it was more of a 40 to 60 ish percent. But one thing I learned from spy school is that when you fake confidence, you get a better result. (A trick Erica had used on me plenty of times.)Erica, me, and Shayla put on parachutes and jumped out of the helicopter, honestly it wasn't as bad as last time. (At least I had my own parachute this time) Although the sensation still needed getting used to.
And then Shayla deployed her parachute way too early.
As we were camly drifting to the ground the Chengdu J-20 fighter jets arrived. Since we were only doing illegal activity and not posing a threat to the premier of China (yet). However, they do warn us with a loud speaker.
"Don't get distracted Ben! So when you hit the ground be careful, there are soldiers there waiting for us." Shouted Erica over the speaker.
I looked down, and indeed there were a dozen soldiers on the ground waiting for us.
"So can you take care of them?" I asked."Not without your help, no. " Said Erica.
"My public image! No! I'm going to be a criminal after this, not even the best lawyers can save me!" Shrieked Shayla.
But I had a plan for when this happens to get her to continue to help us."Don't you want to finish what your daughter started? She died for this mission! The least you can do is do this with us."
At this point we were about 100 meters above the builder, and multiple guards were climbing up onto the roof to arrest us when we landed.
"How many guards are you going to take care of?" I asked Erica.
"7 or 8, you take the rest."
"What?!" I wanted to shout, but I was too late. We were already landing.
As I took off my parachute and frantically tried not to end up under it and wait for Erica to rescue me again, I saw Erica launch a sequence of kicks at the guards. I decided to just take 2 for now, and leave the other several guards to Shayla.
I started my fight with a punch to the face and the guard dodged it, but I had expected that so I used my other fist to punch his head again. I barely missed as the guard went into a squat and juked my punch again. This was when the guard launched his attack by trying to kick me in the guts. However, I spinned away from his kick and landed an elbow on his solar plexus. That was when the second guard came running at me. He raised both of his hands and punched both sides of my head and left my head unattacked. Which in retrospect, was supposed to hit the enemy when they try to dodge the hit, but I had a slow reaction time so both punches missed me. The second guard tried to launch another attack with a kick but I quickly sidestepped him and delivered a punch to his stomach making him fold over in pain. Then I kicked his head just to make sure I knocked him out. It seems like I got better at fighting over my time at spy school.I looked over at Shayla and Erica. Apparently, my speech at the beginning of the fight had motivated her and she had won the battle with the 3 guards that charged at her. Erica was just Erica and easily beat up and tied up all the guards. So, we climbed off from the roof and entered the building.
That was when we heard a familiar voice say behind us "Don't you dare take another step, we have men aiming guns at each of you right now."
Who do you think it is? Again, merry Christmas! Also please vote for my chapters, thanks. :)
