(Y/N POV)
I wake up and look out the window. There's no snow on the ground? Wait, it's Christmas! I'm back home for the holidays. I quickly run downstairs. There are so many presents under the tree! "Now, now Y/N," my mother says, standing behind me. "You know the rules."
"Breakfast first," I say, sighing. "I know." I go to the table and sit down. My mother made a huge breakfast. Eggs, bacon, pancakes, all of it! I get a plate and start eating.
"So," my father begins. "We heard you won your first Quidditch match!" I look at him and smile.
"Yeah! I caught the Snitch! Harry was having complications with his broom, and I was going to help him, so he let me have it!"
My mother's face goes blank. "Honey, did you say Harry? As in, Harry Potter?"
I nod. "Yeah, why?"
My mother and father look at each other, like something bad has happened. They whisper something and then look back at me. "Let's uh, go open your presents now!"
We all move to the living room, and I start opening my presents. I got new robes, quills, mostly school stuff. "There's one more," my father says smiling. He hands me the longer present, and I quickly rip it open.
"The Nimbus 2000?!" I say, practically screaming. I start jumping up and down, hugging both my mom and dad very tightly. "Thank you guys so much!!"
(Draco POV)
It's just another dreaded day at Malfoy Manor. Dobby comes into my room. "Dobby is here to wish sir a happy Christmas, sir." I roll my eyes.
"Thanks, Dobby. You may leave now." He leaves slowly. I know I need to get out of bed, but I have no energy. I hate being here more than anything.
I drag myself down the stairs, where my mom has breakfast waiting. "Good morning, darling," she says to me in a soft tone.
"Morning, mother," I reply, clearly in a bad mood.
"What's the matter?" She asks me.
Oh boy, where do I even begin with this question. There's so much wrong, I don't even know where to start. I hate school, I hate being home, and most importantly, I hate that I can't get Y/N out of my head. "Nothing," I reply. I sit down to eat, and afterwards I go back to my room. I sit on my bed, contemplating everything. Her. Why is it always her I find myself thinking about? I decide to grab a piece of parchment and write her a letter. I can't get her out of my head, so I might as well do something about it. I include a little something in the letter, and send it off. I really hope she likes it.
(Y/N POV)
I'm standing in the living room, picking up all the wrapping paper, when an owl comes swooping through the window. We have the window open because it's oddly warm out for being Christmas Day. It drops a letter in my hands, so I open it.
Dear Y/N,
Merry Christmas. I hope you have a good day. I'm sure you find it weird, my writing to you, but you've been stuck in my head all break, so I figured why not write you a letter. I've included a little gift for you. Enjoy it, and I'll see you back at school after break.
Yours truly,
Draco Malfoy
My eyes widen. Draco Malfoy just wrote me a letter? That's...peculiar. I finish reading it and smile to myself. Something falls out of the envelope. It's...a necklace? Wait, it's a Slytherin necklace, with the serpent on it, painted a beautiful forest green. "Oh my god..." I say out loud. My mother comes into the room. "What is it, honey?" I show her the necklace, and she helps me put it on. "That's beautiful!" She says, "Who's it from?"
I smile lightly, "Draco.." She looks at me, "Malfoy?" I nod. "We're kind of friends." She smiles. "That's good, honey."
