No Time For Peace

Mary awoke again after her recovery from her dizzy spell in her room. Cousin Topsy was now gone and her home was desolate again. A faint smile brushed across her cheeks like a paintbrush as she was relieved to have had some rest.
Leaping from her bed, Mary noticed the time. It was only the light hours of the morning- not even Jack would be lighting the lamps at this time. She almost laughed at herself for being so stubborn and eager to start the day.
With a few swipes and swishes of clothes, Mary was perfecting her hair and now-dressed self in the mirror, adjusting all the sleeves and slight creases to make her look like perfection itself. She was Mary Poppins after all; you can't just be messy and untidy. Her hand grasped the wooden banisters as she took each step down the stairs to the quiet house, the only light being the sunrise through the bay windows. Mary smiled at this moment of peace - it was very rare that she had such a time to take in the sound of birds or to gaze at the dusty air picked up by the rays of sunshine. Her hand grabbed her elbow as she held her posture as usual, strolling through the house to the kitchen where the teapots began to make her tea... all of this by themselves of course.
A sudden knock broke Mary from her trance of peace, making her grab her chest slightly in the shock of the echoing noise.
"Mary! Mary!" Jack said with the expression of worry and panic in his voice, he was gasping for air and his bike was laying on the pavement.
"Jack? What's happened?" Mary added with just as much worry as he did.
"It's Topsy! Her fix-it shop has seemed have... disappeared?" Jack looked confused as he recited this- did he hear Topsy correctly?
Mary looked at him blankly.
"Disappeared?" With her in it?" Mary said as she swiftly grabbed her gorgeous blue coat and her friendly umbrella.
"No no not with her in it, I found her by the alleyway sobbing to herself this morning on my usual route" Jack said, as he looked at Mary.
Mary nodded softly, she put on her gloves and scarf carefully, tilting her hat to have the right angle. This made Jack smile, he knew for a fact he loved the lady standing in-front of him, so these little perfections of herself made him all the more infatuated by her.
"Ready the bike Jack"

And as if it was the last dash to midnight, Mary sat on the bike seat with Jack steering behind her, leaving her mind to wonder what had happened. This has never happened before- ever.
They soon met the scene of Topsy's sobering, where Mary leapt from the bike to hold her hand.
"Where is it Cousin Mary!" She said in utter panic. Mary softly stroked her hand and smiled.
"We shall find out"
Mary stood up and walked towards the normal spot of the fix-it shop. She gently brushed her hand on the bricks and where the door would be.
Nothing.
Mary looked startled herself- this wasn't an easy fix at all, which was rather ironic due to the thing to fix was that of a fix-it shop.
Then. It clicked.
Topsy walked over looking at Mary with her watering eyes.
"S-So?"
Mary stepped back, nervous to look at Topsy.
"Mary!" Topsy snapped, getting slightly impatient now. She leaned closer to Mary. Mary took a glance at Jack, then her eyes went back to Topsy.
"How's your magic been Topsy?" Mary said with a very timid and gentle tone.
Topsy's eyes widened, she looked down at her hands and noticed them shaking. She began to panic slightly, she didn't have her magic.
Jack had known now that most people in relation to Mary were magic in some form of way, so seeing Topsy's utter panic made his heart ache.
"My m-magic, Mary! My Magic's gone!"
Mary gently stroked her umbrella's head. She constructed the reasoning- but couldn't come to a conclusion.
"I believe the Poppins' magic may be in danger..." Mary said with worry in her voice. Her magic would be the last to go but that wasn't to say she wanted any magic to go at all.
"What do we do then?" Jack said as Mary began to storm down the alleyway again. Mary grabbed the bike.
"Cousin Mary! Tell us!" Topsy wiped her eyes as she exclaimed.
Mary just looked at them.
"Don't worry, stay calm the both of you, I know exactly what I, well- we, need to do"
Mary adjusted her gloves.
Jack and Topsy both got on the ladder tied to the bike and held on tightly as Mary sped fast down the London streets.
Jack and Topsy shared a confused look.
Mary just looked ahead, in worry.
