The next night, Mary had gathered all of her usual things, plus the bowl of course, and made her way to the Banks house once again. This time, not making such an entrance like last time. This time she had to leave it there like it had appeared magically, and so this meant a little bit of sneaking. Her umbrella dropped her to the nursery balcony, it was 1am. Carefully opening the door she saw, John, Annabel, and Georgie fast asleep. She smiled, oh weren't they cute. She unwrapped the bowl and careful laid it on the fireplace, like the first time she had touched it and got a snap from Annabel. She yawned, and looked back at them. She found herself sitting on the armchair, and drifting off before she could even stop herself.
6am rolled around, and Mary awoke to the children thankfully fast asleep, but, Jack was approaching to put the lamps out. She couldn't BELIEVE she fell asleep, Mary never EVER did something like this. Why was she so tired? But the fact she felt more tired now didn't help her think how she was going to get out of this situation, one way was children and one way was a lamplighter she secretly liked rather much. She'll play it casual, yes. She'll get off the balcony walk down the road and "accidentally" not notice Jack. Yes, yes that's the plan.
Once Jack turned away for a minute, Mary elegantly leapt from the balcony onto some nearby stones and then onto the ground and out 17 Cherry Tree Lane's gate. She swiftly walked the other way, but Jack saw her.
Jack saw the blue coat, that was delicately decorated with ruffles and buttons, her figure shown off with each buckle of her belt, the little precious red pumps that clacked, the umbrella in her hand smiling, her bunch of brown hair and a red hat like a cherry on top. He sighed. She was around the corner. Wait, she was around the corner... He'll just do his job on the way to... where she's going. Maybe another job he can have some fun on, he giggled jumping on his bike and keeping a little behind as he followed Mary.
She turned onto her street, so did Jack. He assumed Mary wasn't normal, his uncle Bert said she was so mysterious that he didn't expect her to even live in a house, maybe in the clouds or something completely bonkers. She walked into the house, Jack watched and gasped. She's normal,he thought. Walking a little closer Jack saw the beautiful townhouse, and gently peeked inside, seeing cozy sofas, and a beautiful interior he could tell Mary had taken a lot of time to make it that way. He smiled again. Grabbing a ink pen he always took with him, he wrote her address on an old napkin and giggled, cycling away again.
A Week Later
Jack had been at home when Jane came back home, she had been away for a week for her charity work. He realised he didn't love what walked through the door. He realised that wasn't who he wanted to marry. He realised Jane wasn't as dreamy as she came across as. And swiftly came to his feet with a guilty look.
"I have something to say..." Jane said looking at her feet.
"Me too...." Jack replied with. "Let's say it at the same time" He added. Jane nodded.
"I don't love you anymore" They said at the same time. Both of them giggled awkwardly and itched their necks. Swiftly, Jack moved out, and went back to his flat he had shared with his friend Angus. Moving in again, he smiled as he thought he was free to try for the real love of his life now. Mary, Poppins.
The Next Day
Mary started to wonder about Jack more often, and also about her mother. She tried not to think too much of her mother mind you, it upset her so much to know that it's been so long since s-
The phone rang.
Mary ran over and picked up the phone.
"Hello?" Mary said curiously.
No answer.
"Hello? Anyone there?"
No. Answer.
She hung up. Who was that?
Mary sat back down wondering who would call her and not say anything, and with that thought, strolled up to bed. As she went to her bed, she opened the draw to grab a book and saw a dead cherry blossom, she welled up, and slammed the draw. She knew exactly what is was from, and after calming she drifted off.

Mary got ready, dressed in dull colours and she did her makeup. Red eyes. All she saw was red eyes and wet cheeks as she kept doing the makeup over and over again. Finally gathering herself enough to walk there, she kept her head down and saw their friends standing there, and Mary quickly found her spot.
It was all a blur, a cold brisk wind flew through the air as Mary stood there in the outside, zoned out into her own thoughts. She didn't listen to anything he said. She couldn't bring herself to say a speech. She watched it. She watched her go. The rest of their friends left soon enough for the reception, Mary stayed watching. The worker turned to her and looked.
"Mam, you can go to the reception now"
She didn't move, tears fell down her cheeks as she saw she couldn't see the coffin anymore.
"M-Mam?"
Mary lifted her chin and closed her eyes, as more tears fell and her hands started to shake. She walked off. Tears still falling as she walked home. Now she was alone.

With a gasp Mary sat up. Sweat was dripping down her collarbone and in her palms, a wet patch on her neck from more sweat. She sighed and sniffled as she wiped her eyes. She saw the cherry blossom again, the one that the one buried that day had given to her the day before she left Mary. She couldn't even comprehend it when she found out, and she hated that dream. Well, more of a flashback to that day. 20th of May. 52 years ago. It was her mother's funeral.
