The Stillness of the Morning

The next morning, Mary woke feeling very buoyant, with the knowledge someone loved her out there. Today was a second Tuesday, and when she was on a job, this usually meant it was her day off. So, the same implied when she was at home, a little pamper day for herself, and a lot of day dreaming.
The first step to this was to try and get a lay in, which Mary usually failed due to her body clock being used to the time children get up, which could be 5, 6, 7 am. She smirked seeing the time, 6:30am. Of course it was. Silly Mary, she thought, as she sat up and got out of bed, and clapped her hands.
"Spit spot, time for breakfast," She said softly, grabbing a hair pin to tie her hair up in the way she always did. She wrapped her dressing gown round her, and slipped on her slippers, as she strolled downstairs, holding her normal posture of her arm holding her elbow, her fingers positioned perfectly. The umbrella and the canes, to no surprise, were bickering.
"No Mary said she'll take me next time!" The umbrella said louder then the others.
"I'm her favourite..." The umbrella followed with, proudly. Mary crept up behind it and shut its mouth.
"Don't be so rude, you need to learn some manners, or I will take your dear old friend the cane instead of you" Mary snapped, with a slight smile brushed across her face. The umbrella murmured trying to get a word through Mary's delicate fingers. She sniggered, and went into the kitchen, greeted by her teapot and teacups.
"Good morning Mary!" They said in sync.
"Oh good morning you too, I do hope you slept well...." She said as she started to boil some water on the stove. They nodded and smiled watching.
"We are rather chilly Miss Poppins.."
As the words escaped the teapots mouth, she poured some water into the top, the teapot smiled in relief. To them, it was like a warm blanket. Mary smirked watching, she leaned on the kitchen side as she gazed out at the early morning.
"It looks like it's going to be a lovely day," Mary said softly, the teacups and teapot all nodded looking with her. Mary felt so at home in London. It all felt so homely, the city itself, and her friends in it, and the friends in her own home. She poured a tea into the teacup and strolled to the living room, she sat there for a while, just admiring the quiet and stillness that every morning in London would have. The streets would be empty, the pavements would be empty, there was no noise, only a pigeon calling to its friends. She took this opportunity to go on a walk, and swiftly wrapped herself in her blue coat after getting changed and swapped her slippers for pumps. Mary then looked down on the stand of umbrellas and canes. She took the umbrella.
"TOLD YOU!" The umbrella laughed looking back at the canes. Mary again, shut its mouth.
"Hush! I do not know who taught you these manners, certainly not me... I know that for sure," Mary softly said to him, but with a snap too. The umbrella just smiled. Mary was ever so perfect. Her ego was just enough, she was just vain enough, she was just rude enough, to also be kind, sweet, caring, and loving. Making her, practically perfect.
Like a child, Mary strolled across the road with a smile from ear to ear, seeing no one around. She was really quite a timid person, and would rather be alone then with someone, so these mornings, when the sun had just woken up itself, and she was all alone on the streets of London, she couldn't contain herself. She had a gleaming smile, that no one ever really saw. She hid this child-like self from everyone, and that child only came out in her imagination and adventures with the children. She loved the adventures. She was with children, and no one could judge her, she got that same feeling on the early deserted London. She strolled through the nearby park, under all the cherry blossoms, she even giggled with how much she was smiling. No one was here, it was like London was hers. Mary kept skipping in her step, and then turned it back to her sophisticated stroll, as she turned onto what is a usually busy road. Yet, she was so early not even the bankers had left for work. She let a laugh escape her, her laugh was a high pitched one, and a little "Ha!" At the end, which again she never let anyone hear. She laughed again, but then saw Jack as he heard her laugh, he sped over on his bike to her. He had that cheeky, smug smile and he gestured a hello with his hat. Mary reddened at the cheeks a little, realising she had let her childish self out. Jack smiled again seeing.
"What are you doing up so early Mary Poppins?" Jack said with a smile.
"I love the early morning stillness of London, its my favourite thing..." She said softly and quietly. Jack giggled, and nodded agreeing.
"You have a very beautiful laugh," Jack said softly, and smiled again.
Mary blushed. She blushed so much she nearly matched the cherry blossoms petals. Just as she thought she must be as red as a cherry blossom, a big gust of wind flew through them, carrying 100s of blossoms. Both of them gasped in shock, and laughed, as the blossoms covered them and then, the wind pushed them onto the floor, both of them covered with a blanket of blossoms. They both laughed like children, as they laid on the grass. This was perfect, this was what she dreamt of, a perfect morning. This was more then that. She looked at Jack, she let out her big laugh again.
