FANG POV

I had no idea brick felt so cold on my bare gams after prolonged contact, but this pain was a perfect price to pay to be soon united with my warrior princess. Speaking of Max, who's name I now knew, she emerged from the building, her hair now tied back in a ponytail.

Her sleeves were rolled up and she had flour in her hair, like Cinderella being forced to work away in the kitchen for her stepsisters. Luckily her prince had finally come.

MAX POV

Fang looked stupid as fuck, sat on the ground hunched over with the posture of a shrimp, it was very emasculating for him. Pretty funny for me though, he stood up really fast and waved to me. I smiled and waved back, "Hey, you ready to go?"

"Sure!" Fang said. He closed the space between us before bending over in a bow at almost a 90 degree angle and holding his hand out for my own, "May I escort thou to my Ford F150, my dad said I could use it for the next few days...." (He said it with significance, as if that was really hot).

Oh no. Maybe this was a terrible mistake, I thought, seeing his simpering smile. A little hesitant, I placed my hand in his, and he stood back up and gave it a small kiss before pulling me along and through campus. I didn't let him hold my hand for too long, his were super cold, as if he'd been pressing them to outdoor brick or something.

There were also like weird creases in his thighs from his clothes from sitting in the same position for multiple hours.

FANG POV

I put the truck in reverse, hoping Max could smell my Axe: Apollo deodorant as I rested my hand on the back of her seat, and NOT the Carl Jr's from my dad's repeated trips. He ate there every time he and my mom had a fight and he needed to drown his sorrows in something salty and oily. I forgot to check my mirrors thoroughly, though, and had to stop really suddenly when I saw another car. She seemed mega peeved when she jolted forward into her seatbelt.

Her Vitamin Water splashed all over her chest and she stared sourly at the stain on her shirt as though contemplating the future of this altercation, her lips pressed together tightly, unmoving.

"Hah, my bad." I said, and pulled away from the parking space properly. The drive to our local Cici's was short, and mildly eventful. Only due to the fact that I was not very good at driving, not the worst, but there were definitely some short stops and one person who honked at me for cutting them off.

MAX POV

The restaurant was the opposite of bustling when we walked in. Cici's pizza at 3pm had a specific inexplicable mood. A middle school boy holding a fountain drink in each hand and crying silently sat across from his mom, who was resting her head in her hands. The person standing behind the host counter had large makeup, and a very small, very angry mouth. They did not greet us as we walked in. Fang requested two buffet tickets and handed over his coupon for unlimited fountain drinks, and with ease and one dirty look, I followed him to the buffet. We grabbed plates and I mostly stuck to mac and cheese pizza and brownies. I liked it when the pasta was a little dry and got kind of crusty and crispy at the edges, it gave it a good texture.

A tall, bespectacled man was standing behind the buffet pulling bits of glistening cheese off a slice of pizza and bombarding an exhausted employee with weirdly specific questions about the origins of the ingredients and the daily rituals of all of the employees and their relationship with their boss. He was wearing a hiking backpack with like 20 pockets and a nametag on it that said "Eddy".

Weird.

FANG POV

I watched my date watching a man and felt a primal jealousy. Or else, I think that's what Edward Cullen might have said, and I was trying to take tips from him in order to become a more attractive lover.
