Your parents always loved traveling,and meeting new people as well as discovering new places. They always asked if you wanted to come with them everytime before leaving for a new adventure,but you never went with them. You quite liked the comfort of your own house and own room.

Y/n was on the couch in the living room after their parent sent a text saying they are coming back later in the day. Of course they were responsible parents and did not leave Y/n all by themselves in the house,they were watched over by their older Brothers,both 16 and 20. Of course they did have some disagreements and fights,but they still cared for their little sibling,or else their parents would kill them.

Y/n heard the keys unlocking the door,and their Brothers went and welcomed their parents who just came back from yet another adventure.and they had big news.

"Papa,Mama,you came back quicker than usual,was Something wrong there?" said their 16 year old brother, Toni. "Haha no everything went perfectly,in fact,we are all going to go there for a while,go pack your things,we are leaving in a hour!" said their dad,looking very happily at their children,while their mom was standing by his side,looking as happy as her husband about the news. The kids,on the other side,were not as happy as their parents were, they all screamed "WHAT" in unison.

"Now,now,kids" said their mother, "As we were in the village,the Madrigals invited us to a party happening tomorrow,and they even have kids your age!". She knew how to talk to her kids,but only the two oldest agreed to their mom while going to their rooms to pack their things,and their father kept an eye on them,helping them. Y/n and their mother were the last ones left in the living room, Y/n approched their mother,visibly anxious about leaving their precious home. "Mom,do I really have to go with you? I can stay at home,I can take care of myself!" . Their mom chuckled and cupped their face in her hands,looking lovingly at her youngest. "I know you don't like change and meeting new peoples,but I promise you will be okay,maybe there you could even make friends,or find a partner!" The last part of her sentence made Y/n turn red and they started stammering. "WHAT- MOM NO I- UGH FINE!" Said the teen while running off to their room,embarrased,leaving their mom laughing behind them.

Y/n sat on their bed and let out a sigh. "Making friends" they chuckled. Ever since they were a kid,Y/n wasn't good at making friends,they weren't really comfortable with people,which is why they stayed at home everytime. They then took a big breath. "Okay,maybe Mom is right!That will be good for me to change i guess." They stood up and started packing their bags,really anxious about what is going to happens next.

Two hours later

After traveling for an hour or so, Y/n and their family finally arrived to a small village,roaming with villagers here and there,they seem to be very busy. Y/n stayed hidden behind their parents the whole time,observing their new surrondings. A nice villagers escorted the family to their home,right in the middle of the village. On their way, Y/n heard everyone talking about the Madrigals. "Are they that important?" thought the young teen while unpacking in the room that will be theirs as long as they stay. The room is bigger than their room at home,with yellow colored walls, a desk with a chair in front on the window,a wardrobe filled with skirts/pants that the villagers kindly left for them,and the bed seemed comfy. Y/n then proceed to lay down on the floor and look at the ceilling,convincing themselves that they are going to be alright here. But they were quickly stopped by the oldest brother,Andrès,who just opened the door and almost tripped on their little sibling laying on the floor. "I will not ask you why you are there,but Mom and Dad said that we can't go outside today because we have to unpack and rest for tomorrow,can you believe it? We are stuck in here until tomorrow!There is so much happening outside that we can't see!" He seemed upset while saying that,and Y/n looked at him. "Calm down,tommorow isn't far anyway,you can just go sleep earlier,time will fly by." they said.The middle brother passed by the door,telling his siblings that their parents are talking with the Madrigals,who all came to visit. He then went ahead as Y/n was being dragged out of their room to say hello. "Andrès stop! I will come okay,i'm a polite kid." Y/n said,while their brother let go of their arm and laughed at them while gently bumping their head with his fist. "Liar.I haven't seen you say hi to strangers in a while." He said,half laughing.

When they arrived to the living room where their parents and brother were chatting with a old lady. Andrès went ahead and left Y/n a bit behind,to say hello. He then started to chat with a really pretty girl,with a pink dress with flowers on it. Toni was laughing with a girl with green glasses and really colored skirt.They seemed to get along. While Y/n was making themselves as sneaky as possible,they bumped into someone and almost tripped while stepping back,but the person catched them by their waist,right before Y/n hitted the floor. It was a boy with a yellow poncho with little chameleons on it,brown eyes and a smug smile on his face. "Holà hermosa/o, already falling for me as I can see?" The young boy said,before making sure Y/n is steady on their feets,their face were all red and they started stuttering and struggling to find their words. Apologizing over and over again,while backing away from the boy. They almost dropped a vase,but catched it right in time. The young boy was looking at Y/n,with an amused look on his face. "I'm Camilo Madrigal!" he said,waiting for Y/n to introduce themselves as well. Y/n looked away,embarrassed. "I'm Y/n. It's nice to meet you too,Camilo." They were feeling a little bit more comfortable when talking to someone than last time,which surprised them.

The Madrigals didn't spent long though,as a pretty lady with sun earrings reached out to Camilo,and the family left. Y/n's mom came to see them. "Hey darling,I saw you were talking with a young boy,did you by any chance made a friend?" She was asking,hoping for a positive answer from her kid. Y/n looked at her,crossing their arms. "Mom,i only told him my name,we are not friends.Even though I don't have friends,I know it's not that quick to befriend someone." They said. But their mother was already all happy,telling her husband how their child is making a friend. Y/n's dad looked right in their eyes,telling them what Y/n heard him say to his Brothers countless times. "You can make friends,but nothing more than being friends alright? You are my little baby,and I am not letting anyone take you away from me!" Y/n dad said,while his wife sighed,and went to whisper to her child. "Don't listen to him,you can date however you want,he can't do much about it anyway" she said before laughing and setting the table for dinner. Y/n's brothers already went back to their rooms,still unpacking. Y/n did not offer help to their mother with the food,last time they did they almost burned the whole house down to ashes. Better not destroy the house already,so they went back to their room and unpacked the last little things they brought with them,some decoration for the room,like some books,random little objects that Y/n liked a lot,and of course their little plant. It was the only one that didn't die in a week,so they had an emotional attachement to it,and bring it along wherever they go.

About 30 minutes later,Andrès knocked on their door,making a little music,while singing. " Dinner's readyyy!" He was very cheerful after talking to the flower girl. Y/n opened their door and followed him to the dining room,where Toni and their parents were already seated,waiting for the last two siblings to seat with them to start eating. After dinner,their mother grabbed the attention of the three siblings,and talked about going outside tomorrow. "Listen very closely,kids. Tomorrow you will all be allowed to go and visit the village and the surrondings,but remember to come back on time for the Madrigals party,we wouldn't want to be late for this,trust me." she smiled as the three kids agreed. "And don't be afraid to talk to the villagers here,they are all very kind!It's almost magic!" She said,winking to them. Y/n and their siblings agreed once more,before going to bed. Tomorrow was going to be a big day apparently,so Y/n better have enough energy to go through the day.But once they were trying to sleep,all they could think about was the young boy they meeted earlier,Camilo Madrigal.He seemed so nice and friendly,Y/n really wanted to become friends with him,but how? They never made a friend in their life,how do people make friends? Does it just happen? Y/n spend a good part of the night thinking about it,before finally falling asleep.
