To the Rescue (Klance voltron fanfic)

Mission pt.4

Lance pov

They had enough decency to give us one meal. They untied our arms for around 10 minutes for us to eat, though guards were inside the room the entire time. After we ate they tied our arms up again and left. About an hour after that the general came back in and had his guard hit me a couple more times before leaving. Man he really hated me. It was almost time to go to sleep now, at least that's what it felt like. We had eaten about 2 hours ago. I heard a click and I looked at the door, a guard opened it. He untied our arms and legs then left. Keith was the first to stand, before I could comprehend that we had been untied, Keith was kneeling at my knees.

"I knew you weren't fine." Keith said. I still had a slightly bloody nose, my lip was busted and bleeding, and the cut on my eyebrow had started to bleed again. Keith put his hand on my face as he observed my banged up face.

"Stupid Lance. Bullying a Galra general." He muttered while carefully whiling the blood of my face with a cloth from his belt. I was frozen. My cheeks were practically on fire as I stared at my crush's cute, focused face. He finished cleaning the blood off my face.

"There." He said with a proud look on his face. There was also a light blush on his face. I laughed at how cute he looked. He smiled. He helped me stand since the guard had hit me pretty hard in the gut. We walked to the corner of the room. He helped me sit against the wall.

"Thanks for helping me Keith." I said, smiling. He smiled back.

"No problem Lance." He replied. He sat next to me, a little further than I would have liked.

"We need to figure out how to get out of here." I said. Keith nodded. We sat against the wall talking for a good 2 and a half hours before we both started to get tired. Soon Keith drifted to sleep, leaning his head against my shoulder. I smiled and rested my head against his.

Lance pov

I woke with a start to hear a loud banging sound. I looked and saw Keith was also awake now. The sound got a bit closer before stopping. A couple minutes later we heard guns. Then we heard rapid footsteps approaching. Then the door opened. Pidge and Hunk stood there.

"Lance, Keith! Are you guys ok?" Hunk asked. He ran over to us and knelt down.

"We're ok buddy." Lance said. He nodded and we stood. We ran through the base until we finally reached outside.

"Hunk my lion is over there, you guys go, I'll be right behind you." I shouted over to him. He nodded but Keith stopped me.

"I'll come with you, just in case." I smiled and nodded. We started running towards Red. We almost got to her but some Galra soldiers stopped us. We turned to fight back, but one surprised me by punching me. I grunted in pain as I fell. I tried to get up but the soldier kicked my gut. I coughed and blood spattered. Out of the corner of my eye Keith was fight off a couple guards with his sword. He glance over just in time to see the guard punch my face again.
