Keith pov
I woke up to footsteps quickly entering the room. I looked up, hoping to see Lance running up to get me. But it was only Hunk coming into the room with a snack.

"Oh hey Keith, how ya feeling buddy?" He asks. I shrug.

"I'm fine." I replied shortly. I knew he was just looking out for me but I didn't really feel like talking. Thankfully he just nodded and went back to his snack. I stood up to stretch my sore joints, freezing when I heard a small beep. I quickly turned to face Lance in the pod, just in time for him to fall out. Thankfully I caught him just in time. I carefully sat on the floor so he was laying in my lap. I put my hand on the side of his face.

"Hey Lance. You awake?" I asked softly. He groaned quietly and his eyes fluttered open. I never thought I would be so happy to see his beautiful ocean blue eyes.

"Keith?" He asked. I nodded, laughing slightly. I could feel tears pricking my eyes but I refused to let them fall.

"How you feeling Sharpshooter?" I asked, trying to sound a little more 'normal'.

"My whole body hurts but I'll be ok." He said, trying to sit up. I help him to his feet.

"Glad to see you awake buddy" Hunk said, grinning. Lance smiled.

"Good to be awake." Lance replied. "Keith, would you mind helping me to my room? It still hurts to walk." He asked nervously.

"Yeah no problem." I replied. He wrapped an arm around my neck and I wrapped mine around his waist to support his weight. I looked away to hide the growing blush on my face.

"How long was I out for?" Lance asked.

"Around 4 and a half hours I think. I was worried sick." I said, mumbling the last part. Lance turned to me, smirking.

"You were worried about me?" He asked. I rolled my eyes.

"Forget it." I said, annoyed. His smile dropped slightly. Curious. We reached Lance's room and went inside. I helped him sit on his bed. I turned to leave but he stopped me by grabbing my wrist.

"Did you mean it?" He asked, looking at his lap.

"You mean when I said I was worried?" Lance nodded. "Of course I did. I wouldn't lie about that."

"Right of course not." Lance said smiling. It seemed fake.

"Are you ok Lance? You look upset." I said.

"Leave it to Mullet to notice everything." He mumbled. "I'm fine. I just need some rest...how are you doing? You took on a ton of guards." He said, obviously trying to change the subject.

"I'm fine. Just a couple small cuts, being sore, the usual." I said. He nodded.

"Of course." He said. I sat in the bed next to him.

"Lance there is definitely something wrong. You don't have to tell me, but it would be good to tell someone ok?" I said. I did really want him to trust me enough to tell me but I didn't want to pressure him.

"I just-" he started, his voice cracked. "I took on one guard and got seriously injured. You took on like 15 and you're fine...though you've always been better at stuff than I have." Lance let out a dry laugh. I grabbed his face, ignoring the butterflies in my stomach. He had tears in his eyes.

"Lance, the only reason I could do that is because I was overwhelmed with adrenaline. I could only do that because I had to get to you." I said, standing. The tears started falling. He hugged me, burying his face in my chest. At first I was frozen. However, I soon hugged him back.

"Thanks Mullet." He said. I laughed softly.

"You're welcome Shapshooter" I smiled.
