3rd Person POV
The strange tension between Sokka and Zuko never really went away. And they both continued to ignore it. There life are school hadn't changed, they still ignored each other. Somehow, their picnics got pushed back a week. Neither actually said it but they just never showed up. Until the next weekend, when Zuko showed up at Sokka's house.

Truth being, Zuko didn't show up because he still felt bad. He started the fight, he was the first one to raise his voice, and he was the one who frightened his boyfriend. Of course Sokka thought the same. Sokka felt responsible for it. To him, he was the one who didn't drop the fight, and he was the one who insulted his own boyfriend. When Sokka opened the door. His eyes light up at the sight of the black haired boy.

"Zuko! I'm so happy you're here. I was worried you wouldn't come", he cheered and practically jumped on Zuko. Zuko caught Sokka and laughed, "Of course, the picnic was my idea after all". "I know but I wanted to make up for our fight the other week. I said something awful and I feel incredibly horrible about it", his head dropped.

Zuko gulped and walked forward towards him. Putting his hand on Sokka's chin and lifting his face up so he was looking up at him. "Hey, don't go all sad on me now, babe. We both did and said some things we regret, let's just forget it and have a nice time", Zuko smile lightly. He smiles back and his eyes close slowly and he leans forward. He kisses Zuko's lips and he kisses him back.

Suddenly, all their tension was gone. Those words that Zuko said and the kiss was all it took for everything to go back to normal. "Hey, I love you", Sokka whispered. "I love you too." "Yeah, you better". The couple laugh, "God, I've missed you so much Sokka...what are you staring at me for?" "No reason, I just like it when you smile and laugh, it's cute", Sokka answers, matter of factly.

A blush appears on Zuko's face and he clears his throat, "So..we going on this picnic or..?" Sokka nods and grabs a basket form inside, closing the door. "It's amazing really, we've been dating for a year and a half and you still get all flustered and embarrassed". "Anyone would get flustered if you complimented them", Zuko said under his breath. "What was that, babe?" "Oh..it was nothing", Zuko said, a little too fast to not be suspicious.

Sokka shook his head and ignored Zuko's adorable suspiciousness and just held his hand. "But wait what if someone sees us, like Austin?", Zuko questions. He's about to let go when Sokka keeps his hand still. "We'll just have to hide. Besides, won't that make it fun", a cocky smirk appears on his face and Zuko just playfully rolls his eyes. Holding the boys hand tighter.

This is how they were used to being, happy. Not fighting. This is how Zuko wanted to stay. This is how Sokka wanted to stay. But unfortunately, both had a feeling it wouldn't stay this happy. "We just have to make it through the rest of this year and our senior year right?", Sokka says out of nowhere. "Then we can leave and have our relationship out in the open. I promise, baby, one day, maybe some day soon, everyone will know that your mine and I'm yours".

A proud smile appears on his face as he looks over at Zuko. "Stop being so sweet and cute", Zuko groans. Sokka playfully bumps hips with Zuko and they continue to walk. Eventually making it to the shaded cleaning in the park.

Where they ate, and talked, and cuddled, and above all else, made out on the grass. But that's it, only so much the two can do in public.
