Chapter Four - Recess Time

As you were new to this school you didn't know where to go to get to the playground so you had to follow Nugget outside. You looked like a baby duck following their mother waddling behind him going every direction he went. Eventually you guys reached the playground and you immediately saw a huge hole in the sandbox so you asked Nugget what the hole was in the sandbox. His face lit up as he dragged you over there by your hand.   

"This is the Nugget Cave" he said waving his small hands in the air. Looking down you couldn't even see the bottom of the so called "cave".  Nugget noticed you looking and said "want Nugget to take Y/n down to the cave." Upon hearing this you accepted the invitation and began preparing for how you were about to get down. After Nugget finished "preparing" for you two you took a sharp breath before confirming that you were ready. Grabbing Nugget's hand you took a step forward and fell through the deep, dark hole.

Eventually you guys reached the bottom and you dusted yourself off.
"Nugget welcomes Y/n to the Nugget cave" Nugget exclaimed extending his arms to his head. You let out a small giggle and looked around the cave. Immediately you noticed a bloody dead dog. Disgusted you turned towards Nugget with a looked that asked "how did that get here. "Ah, Nugget does not know how the little doggy got here however he does know the janitor did it." You flinched at the mention of the janitor and Nugget noticed. It was just then that you noticed that your hair wasn't covering your eye anymore. You tried to fix it but it was too late. "How did your eye get bruised?"   

You noticed that this time Nugget didn't speak in third person. "Nugget, you didn't speak in third person" you pointed out to him.
"Don't avoid the question" he said harshly. This made you gulp as you tried to figure out an excuse for yourself. Instantly the bell rang saving you from having to answer Nugget's question anymore. Sighing you and Nugget got out of the cave and headed inside for show and tell.

When you got inside the teacher called on you to go first. This made you realize that you didn't have anything to show for show and tell. "Oh well if you don't care enough to bring something to show and tell you won't care that you'll be sent to the principles office" Ms. Applegate said. Reluctantly you went out the door and headed to the principles office. Once you entered the door you saw a weird looking rug. What a strange place for a mat you thought.

"Can I help you with something?" You were brought back to your senses and replied "umm well I didn't have anything to bring to show and tell so my teacher sent me here."
"Is that all" he said while rubbing his forehead with his index and thumb. "Umm yes.." you said kind of awkwardly. Then the bell rang and the principal dismissed you. You walked outside the doors just in time to see everyone leaving on their way home.

After about ten minutes of painful walking in the heat you finally made it to your house. With your mom's new job she had to work late hours so you would be home alone till midnight. Wonderful you cheered to yourself in a sarcastic tone. Walking over to the fridge you grabbed your tablet and began watching some weird video on YouTube. Deciding to grab an orange you peel it and shoved it all in your mouth.

Eventually after a while you got tired so you turned off your tablet and plugged it in. Turning to look at the time you noticed that it was ten thirty. Your eyes widened as you realized that it was past your bedtime. Rushing to your bedroom you changed into your pajamas and brushed your teeth. You climbed into the warm embrace of your bed and threw your head back to your pillow. After a long day you could finally get some rest. It wasn't long before you fell asleep.
