Meeting with JYP

Haejin as Narrator:

'Don't act like you forgot! But I have my money!' Ryujin, Yeji, Somi and I finished the last practice we have for our monthly evolutions. Jaechu was forced to leave the company after Minho and Hyunjin explained to JYP what happened. She was devastated and ran out of the building. I have never seen her again after that. Later Jeon Somi unnie, joined our team. She is also an international trainee and she is from Canada. 'See you guys later, I'm off the the cafeteria to meet up with Chaeyoung unnie!' said Somi cheerfully and left. 'I have to find Hyunjin so we can video call out parents.' said Yeji and followed Somi to the door. 

'Why don't we go back to the dorms to catch up on our studies? Yuna is also there so we might be able to help each other.' Suggested Ryujin as we pushed open the door. 'Sure why not.' I said tiredly. We were hit by a strong gush of wind when to stepped out the company door. 'Finally, I thought we were going to overheat!' I sighed while Ryujin giggled. Some how we were both able to make it to the apartment building without collapsing. 'Hello Haejin unnie and you too Ryujin unnie!' greeted Yuna as she opened the door. Her face was red and her white top was plastered on her. 

'How was practice?' Ryujin decided to spark up a conversation as we crowded around the kitchen island. 'Not too bad. Chaeryeong and Lia are both very kind and they helped me with some moves I'm not good at.' Yuna said and threw a thick stack of homework onto the table. 'Well, let's get studying!' I cheered and sat down. I'm still attending online school and I manage to catch up on the lessons in China. Usually classes start after my morning dance practice and ends just before Gym so I can at least listen to the classes I need. It's funny that I've never met my teacher or classmates face to face. I wonder if I will someday. 

A knock interrupted my day dream and I stood up to open the door. 'Chan oppa? What are you doing here?' I asked. 'I'm here behalf of JYP PD nim to inform you that we have a meeting with him.' said Chan seriously. Ryujin unnie and Yuna both gave me a reassuring smile and I shut the door. My heart was probably in my throat by now and I was fiddling with the hem of my jacket. Chan oppa must've noticed my nervousness and placed a hand on my shoulder. We walked all the way back to the entertainment building. We reached JYP's office and I glanced at Chan. He nodded at me and I knocked on the door. 

'Please come in.' came JYP's cold voice form inside. Chan opened the door and gestured me to go first. 'Mr Bang, Miss Bae please take a seat.' said JYP as we sat down. 'Chan has given me a very interesting request.' Began JYP and we both looked at Chan. 'He picked you to be the final member to complete his group Stray Kids.' Said JYP slowly. I froze. Chan wants me to be in an all boys group. The only girl? Really? I must be dreaming. 'He thinks you have the potential and what it takes to capture the movements of a dance for a different Gender and I agree.' He continued. 'You should take this as great pride because it can only be done by very talented people. Said JYP. 

'So....what do you say?' asked Chan. 'I don't see why not.' I said, a smile on my face. 'Thank you Haejin, thank you JYP PD nim.' said Chan and bowed. 'I hope all works out well and Haejin, the survival show starts in 1 week and I wish you the best of luck.' JYP said and smiled at me. 'Thank you.' I bowed and left with Chan. He was about to leave when I called out to him. 'Chan wait!' He turned around and looked at me. 'Thank you for trusting me, I won't let you down.' I said and he hugged me. 'I know you won't.' he said and gave me his signature smile.

I thought about this long and hard. There was something in Haejin that stood out to me. Her style was so different. Her movements were so delicate yet powerful. She is just what Stray Kids needs. On the other hand what would JYP PD Nim think? I don't know. Maybe it's worth a try. I haven't told any of my members about this but I hope they agree. I want Haejin to join us. I want a girl to join Stray Kids. I knocked on the door and was told to come in. 'Ah, Chan. It's nice to see you, is there something you need help with?' asked JYP. 'Yes there is.' I said and felt his eyes look scan me. 'I was wondering if it's possible for JYP to have a mixed gender group. Even though it's rare, they are also really popular.' I explained my idea. 'So I assume you would like to add a few more members to Stray Kids.' questioned JYP. 'Actually not a few but just one.' I said carefully. 

'Who are you implying to add?' asked JYP. 'Bae Haejin.' I said 'Ah, yes Haejin. I see I see. She is really talented and I too do think her style matched the groups but.' He said and paused. 'Mixed gender groups like KARD and Checkmate both have an equal amount of both genders. Are you sure that 8 boys and 1 girl is going to work out?' he said. 'I am not sure yet but it's worth a try, I trust Haejin and I think she is capable of pulling this off.' I said confidently. JYP nodded thoughtfully. 'Why don't you bring Haejin to my office tomorrow after practice to see what she thinks.' he said finally and I cheered in my head. 'Thank you.' I said and bowed at him. 'I wish for the best Chan, I hope your idea is successful.' I heard him say before I closed the door.
