Haejin's First Practice with Stray Kids

Haejin as narrator:

5:00 in the afternoon...

'Oh no I'm running late!' I muttered to myself as I ran out the door. 'Good luck unnie!' I heard Yuna behind me. I smiled and felt grateful for having someone like her in my life. She's just a little sister to me, even though she's much taller. I found out that I grew 3 centimetres after I came to Korea. Looks like I'm finally getting my growth spurt. I unzipped my jacket when I reached the building and pulled my hair into a messy ponytail. My white k-pop boots clunking as I walk. I reached the practice room and heard thumps and the squeaking of sneakers against the floor. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. The sound echoed in the empty hall way, along with the pounding beat in my heart. I lowered my gaze to the ground and waited for a response. Suddenly the music stopped. This is it. I hope it goes well. 

The door cracked open and I saw Bang Chan. 'Hi Haejin, I'm glad to see you.' he said and gave me a smile. 'Hi Chan oppa, I'm so sorry I'm late.' I said quietly. 'Please come in, the boys and I just finished our first few songs.' said Chan as he steered me in. He pushed me gently with his hands and I saw 7 boys resting on the floor. 'Guys please welcome Haejin, our final member!' announced Chan with a flourish. Jisung and Felix waved, Changbin gave me a small smile, Seungmin and Hyunjin bowed at me, Minho winked as usual. I saw a new face within them. A young boy with eyes them reminded me of a fennec fox. 'Hello Haejin, I'm Jeongin. I'm 16 years old and I am so happy that you're the new maknae!' he said cheerfully and gave me a full on cheshire cat grin. 

'Hello Jeongin, do you mind me calling you oppa?' I asked. His face lit up while the others bursted into laughter. 'Oh please do! Because this baby wants to be all grown up!' teased Felix. 'Haejin, now that you know innie, can you please tell us if you and Minho hyung are dating?' asks Jisung. I looked at Minho while he shrugged. I laughed slightly. 'Of course not! Min and I are just good friends.' I said. 'You owe me 800 won Hannie! I told you they're not a thing!' shouted Hyunjin. 'Is it true that V hyung from BTS is your cousin?' asks Changbin. 'Yeah he is, and he was the one who introduced me to Min.' I said. 'Haejin, did you learn the new Bts dance?' asks Minho out of pure curiosity. 'You mean Blood Sweat and Tears?' I questioned. 'Yeah, that one.' said Minho. 

'Is it that one where you crawled on the floor.' asks Changbin. 'Hyung crawled on the floor?' asks Jeongin. 'It's the one Jeongin isn't supposed to watch.' said Hyunjin. 'Can you dance it for us Haejin?' asks Minho. 'I heard from Chan hyung that you are a very good dancer.' Seungmin added. I looked at Chan. He seemed thoughtful. 'I guess you aren't too young as a girl. Since girls tend to be more mature, I don't see why not.' he sighs, clearly regretting his decision already. 'I'll play the music!' volunteers Jisung while the other members sat down. I took off my jacket and waited for the music to start.

I finished and they all clapped. Minho gave me a high five as I wiped the sweat of my fore head. From the corner of my eyes I saw Hyunjin smiling at me. I felt my cheeks turn a little red. 'Are you okay Haejin? Your cheeks are red.' asks Felix worriedly. 'Oh-uh Don't worry Felix, it's just a little warm here.' I stuttered. 'Well, let's get practicing. Don't worry Haejin, we'll teach you the steps. As a very talented dancer, you'll get it in no time!' said Chan cheerfully. I nodded while the others crowded around me. 

Time Skip (2 Hours later)

I was drenched in sweat and my vision was blurry but I still managed to smile. This was the best practice ever. The boys were all so kind and considerate, not to mention humorous and extremely chaotic. 'Haejin, would you like to eat with us at our dorm?' asks Jeongin with a hopeful look in his eyes. His cute gestures made me fall in love with him in an instant. Not in a romantic way though.'Of course Jeongin oppa.' I answered the pleading boy. 'Get's go everyone! I'm starving!' shouts Jisung as he lead the way. When I finally packed my things the others are already in the hall. Hyunjin was holding the door for me and gestures me to go first. 'Thank you Hyunjin.' I said softly and beamed at him. He smiled too. 

Hyunjin as Narrator:

I am so happy that Haejin agrees to come eat dinner. I can't wait to know her better. When the others left I saw her pick up the empty plastic bottles they had left behind. Honestly guys. I thought I told them about this. I rolled me eyes a little and let out a little huff. Haejin saw me holding the door and smiled at me. 'Thank you Hyunjin.' she said in her quiet voice. It made me grin like crazy. The way she said my name made my heart skip a whole beat. Whoa!
