Jill felt a shiver run down her spine as she opened the door to the cabin, revealing a dark and gloomy hallway covered in cobwebs. She held her pistol loosely in her hand as she crept by the dusty windows to the doorway at the end where a dim light shone through.
As she looked around, she noticed furniture scattered around the hall and a few broken picture frames laying on the floor. Whoever lived here made this place a home, but it was all gone now.
Jill placed a shaky hand on the doorframe as she stuck her head into the room. It was a small living room with a quiet fire brewing in the dusty fireplace by the corner. Up the stairs and behind the torn couch was another room.
Jill glanced back at the fireplace, her throat tighten with confusion and excitement. Apparently this place wasn't as abandoned as she thought. She crept up the stairs cautiously, looking around slowly for any signs of her teammates.
Jill entered a quiet study, with a bright desk lamp on a creaky wooden table, and a messy bed sitting in the corner of the room. There was another doorway opposite of her, which led to a hole where the floorboards had broken.
Jill peered down into the short hole before slowly backing up. If she needed to, she could stick around here. Whoever was here might come back and she could find out what was going on.
Jill's eyes widened and she whirled around as she heard a door slam, from the other side of the cabin, echo behind her. Jill swallowed nervously and her hand shifted to hover over her knife.
"Barry...?" She called out, slowly making her way to the doorway, her boots causing the floorboards to creak quietly.
No answer.
Jill gulped nervously again. "Wesker?" She called out once more. Nothing.
Jill froze in place and bit her lip. "Chris...?"
Jill abruptly started for the doorway again, her heart pounding in her chest.
As she took a step outside of the doorway, Jill felt a sharp pain in the back of her skull as something heavy collided with her head, forcing her to the ground and knocking her out.

Chris shot three bullets into the deranged dog in front of him, wiping his brow as he finished the last of the pack off.
He cringed as he looked at the three canine corpses in front of him, wrinkling his nose and moving beyond the large patio to the short steps leading up to another black gate.
He pushed the gate open, his eyebrows raising as he noticed a large pool before him, with a gate in the wall letting rushing water into it. The pool was starting to get overrun by rogue overgrown plants and vines but he didn't seem to take notice of that.
