Chapter 26

'Are you okay?' Shahrukh asked Kajol when he was driving back home

'yeah' Kajol said with a smile

'I don't think so, since we got out of the restaurant you didn't say a word. This is supposed to be your happiest day ever; I guess' Shahrukh said calmly

Kajol looked at the ring placed to her finger smiling then placed her palm over his shoulder 'of course I am happy, Shahrukh. It is just that, I am really nervous, mom would do anything to spoil everything between us' she said with her smile fading

'no one can separate us Kajol, no matter what' Shahrukh said kindly reassuring and Kajol kissed his cheek sweetly

'Congratulations' Poja said once they got in, she was standing with a big smile on her face, both Kajol and Shahrukh looked at Arjit feeling confused but he smiled at them and nodded reassuring 'congratulations my son' Poja said sweetly and kissed Shahrukh's cheek

'Thank you' Shahrukh replied calmly; still feeling lost

'Take care of Kajol, she is my precious daughter' Poja said kindly patting over Shahrukh's arm then looked at Kajol and hugged her 'congratulations honey, I am so happy for you' Poja said, still smiling happily

'Is she okay?' Rani whispered to Shahrukh

'I don't know' Shahrukh whispered back then wrapped his arm around Kajol's shoulder when Poja pulled back

'And, here is my gift to Kajol' Poja said, grabbed a rectangular package and handed it to her 'open it' she said happily

Kajol silently opened the package and found out that it is a red wedding sari 'wow' Kajol said coldly

'I hope you like it' Poja said smiling

'thanks' Kajol said smiling coldly 'I would like to go to my room, it has been a long day' she said and walked away holding the package in her hands leaving everyone standing there.

'Congratulations, once again' Rani said happily and kissed Shahrukh's cheek 'I will go check on the kids' she said and walked away

'I will be in the study, if you needed me' Arjit said smiling to Shahrukh and left while Poja and Shahrukh remained standing there

'So, that's it?' Shahrukh asked sarcastically raising an eyebrow

'Yeah, that's it' Poja said shrugging

Shahrukh scoffed 'you must be kidding me; I will never believe that you surrendered'

'Yes, Shahrukh. I lost and you won'

'that's funny'

'Believe it or not, I admit that I have gone really far, and it is time to stop. Kajol made her own decision and I have to respect that; yet, she has to take the whole responsibility for her doings'

'You mean that she made a wrong decision saying yes to me?'

'I mean that it is her life and she is responsible now for all of her decisions, good or bad' Poja said then added 'and yes, Arjit talked to me and warned me for the last time; and to be honest, my house is way more important than these childish behaviors. Sooner or later; Kajol will figure out that she made the biggest mistake in her life, but okay; let her try and learn'

'So now I can sleep peacefully knowing that you won't kill me in my sleep or poison my coffee?' he asked sarcastically

Poja giggled and placed her palm over his shoulder 'I am not lady Macbeth. As long as you are inside this house; I will never harm you. Enjoy your staying' Poja said still giggling
