I kept overthinking. The bought of homesickness and the onset of isolation mixed. Each one just made the other worse. I wanted to hide away behind the veil my braids made.

I want to go home...

"What was that little Goldfish?" a sadistic coo stirred me back to reality. "You don't want to go home?" Floyd appeared out of nowhere, surprising the entire group. He stood over Riddle's shoulder and gave a lazy smile. "Then don't. We aren't going home, so let's all stay at the school together...Aha~"

Riddle jumped back from Floyd's characteristic invasion of privacy. "Could you please not butt in to matters you know nothing about? It's troublesome."

"Indeed. You shouldn't stick your nose in other people's business," Jade scolded his twin as he made his way over as well.

"Eh? But Jade~ I'm so bored with hanging around the same people every holiday," Floyd pouted. "Azul wouldn't mind if we kept a little goldfish since he's so tiny."

"How dare you speak about the Heartslabyul dorm leader in such a manner," Riddle glared at the tall Octavinelle student. His face turned into a deep red as anger overcame him. "I'll have your head!"

Trey and Cater were quick to get on either side of Riddle to hold him back. "Riddle, we'll get in trouble if you fight here," Cater warned.

"Calm down Riddle. Don't let him get to you," Trey tried to get through to him.

"NNNGHHH!" Riddle seethed as he tried to get at the mer.

Cater hastily changed the subject, "Um, Floyd, your home is at the Coral Sea, right? Why aren't you going home?"

Jade answered for him, "Azul and our hometown is in the Coral Sea, however it's actually pretty far north. At this time, the sea's surface is covered with glaciers."

Floyd continued in a whiny voice, "That's right. It's hard to get home due to the glaciers. Besides, it's boring at home."

Only Floyd would consider a hometown underwater where they play in shipwrecks for fun boring... My mood started to lift ever so slightly as I watched Floyd.

His mood slightly picked up as well as he went on, "That's why the three of us decided to go back home during spring break when all the ice melts."

"Huh, it must be hard having parents that live under the sea," Trey guessed.

Riddle had calmed down and was back to his normal, righteous self. "Hmph! I'm absolutely not spending the new years with Octavinelle. Allow me to excuse myself. Everyone, happy holidays."

"Happy holidays Riddle," I returned to him. "Hope everything turns out okay." He gave me a small smile before going through the mirror. Trey followed behind with Cater tagging on at the end after taking a group selfie with Ace and Deuce.

"Leafy Sea Dragon~" Floyd finally took notice of my presence. He slinked over to me, and I braced myself for his additional weight as he draped himself over my shoulders. "Are you staying here?"

"Yeah, I'll be here with Prefect Yuu and Grim," I told him. "Not like we have anywhere else to go."

"Then come play at Octavinelle. I'll play with you~," Floyd lazily cooed, his pitch raising. He twirled one of my braids in his fingers. I let him play with it for a moment before intrusive thoughts started to pop up in my head.

"Ew, why is your hair like that?" a voice from my childhood echoed.

"Yeah! It's like Velcro!" another joined in.

"No, it's not!" I denied their claims. A younger version of my voice mixed with my current one.

"Let's see what we can stick to it!"

"No, don't touch my hair!"

I gave a strained smile as I softly took the braid he played with and brought them all to the opposite side he had his head. I could feel his puzzled looks, but I tried to fight them off with a smile.

Yuu was hesitant in their response to Floyd's offer, "I don't know-,"

"That's a good idea," Jade cut them off. "We can all have fun over break, so please come at any time. Excuse us." Jade pulled his brother off of me and dragged him away. The two of them giggled in a creepy twin matter as they left.

"Ugh...seeing their faces just reminds me of all the torture I went through at the Mostro Lounge," Grim shuddered.

"I agree...it was rough," Deuce grimaced at the thought.

"Don't remind me..." Ace sounded as though he was going to cry.

We stood in the room for a few moments. We watched as more students went through the mirror. Ace and Deuce helped us set up MagiCam accounts on our phones. Deuce looked up after handing me my phone back and said, "Most of the students are gone now. Let's start heading on our way." He nudged Ace to get his attention.

"Yeah," Ace agreed. "Oh yeah, Prefect. Let's trade MagiCam IDs before we go. Since you guys got new phones now, we can message each other during break."

"That's right. Let's exchange," Deuce got out his phone.

"Sounds good to me, even though Crowley said not to use MagiCam," Yuu pointed out even though they still did so with an excited grin across their face. We all exchanged our numbers with an upbeat notification sound. I pocketed mine while Yuu still looked over theirs with Grim.

In a teasing tone, Ace ruffled Yuu's hair and said, "If you feel lonely during break, hit me up."

"Thank you. I'll do just that," Yuu gave him a genuine smile of gratitude as they looked back at their first friend here.

"You don't need to be so serious. It was a joke," Ace huffed when he did not receive the reaction he wanted.

Deuce shoved Ace playfully to the side with an eye roll. "His jokes might be lame, but you can always message me if you need anything."

"I'll have to take you up on that offer, Deuce my dude," I laughed.

With a light sigh and warm smile Deuce said, "Well then, my mom is probably waiting for me, so I should get going. Yuu, Grim, Viv, Happy Holidays."

"I hope you have a great time with your mom," Yuu wished for him.

"Then, I'll get going too. Yuu, Grim, Viv, see you next year," Ace gave a farewell to us too.

"You better not slack off your basketball stuff too, or else I'll be after you as manager," I teased. I knocked him on the shoulder lightly. "Enjoy your break you idiot."

They both went through the mirror, one after the other. Yuu, Grim and I were left in the Hall of Mirrors.

"It's usually noisy, but now it's so quiet with everyone gone," Grim spoke from Yuu's shoulder. He was right. The large dark room was silent. Just like when I woke up trapped in one of the many floating coffins. It was short lived when Grim raised his voice angrily, "Now I see how noisy it really was every day!"

"Pfft," Yuu tried to hold back their laughter to no avail, "Hahaha! Yeah, you're right Grim." I smiled as I watched them laugh.
