Guilt. It's such a tricky thing to endure and comprehend when you're dead and can't experience any kind of emotions.

Guilt. That's what seems to oddly linger in me when I think about what had happened weeks ago.

It wasn't supposed to turn out the way it did. I had a plan... and it went to shit.

The reason why humans left?... well why they even left our lands in the first place... None of it was supposed to turn out this way.

It was just supposed to be a quick look that day... a quick intake of how many humans exactly were on dead man's land and for us to take back what's rightfully ours.

There were 20 of them... just like I had presumed those many days and nights ago...

I had also presumed if we had gone and attacked them... we wouldn't survive.

But, that's what we went and did anyway. We have created a war, The dead VS the living in a game of chess.

Their pawns against our pawns.

Zombie boy, zombie girl #1, zombie boy #2, and zombie boy #7.

Their rooks against our rooks.

Ivan, zombie girl #3, zombie boy #6, zombie girl #4, and zombie boy #4.

Our knights,

Jacob, Larry, Zombie girl #2, zombie boy #5 and boy #3

And bishops,

Gwen, zombie girl #6, zombie girl #5, and zombie girl #7.

Against theirs.

Their king against our king.

Lenoir.

And lastly, it was I, against their queen.

It was late when we stumbled upon them as they slept, every one of us trying to find what they have taken from us that is rightfully ours.

We were quiet and thought we were going unnoticed until one of their human knights fired his gun at us and the sound unleashed total chaos and panic across the entire camp.

Their queen didn't waste any time as she exited her tent and began shooting any of us down.

She didn't seem to hesitate but she underestimated us.
