Jungwoo wanted to believe that Kun is just pranking him and is going to surprise him that Lucas is actually downstairs alive and breathing. But the horror in Kun's eyes made him think otherwise. "Y-you're kidding right?" Jungwoo managed to force an airy chuckle, ignoring the tears slowly dropping one by one.
"Oh honey, I wish." Kun broke down but managed to walk to immediately hug Jungwoo who's still processing everything happening in one night.
Mark was frozen in his spot trying his best to not fall to the floor to cry himself out. And besides, he needs to be strong not because he's supposed to be dominant, no, it's because Jungwoo needs someone to balance the weight he's carrying. Imagine your best friend for 10 years suddenly says goodbye to the world except for you.
Mark is a common friend of the two for four years. He's the only one who knew about Jungwoo's disease, the only one who knows about the intimate feeling both males had with each other, the only one who's going to catch the both of them in this situation. Jungwoo needs him a whole lot, and he's sure Lucas would want that.
"Mark?" Donghyuck called out to him in a soft trembling voice. And that's it, forget about not wanting to break down, Mark immediately hugged his lover and cried on his shoulder.
On the other hand, both Kun and Jungwoo were crying and and hugging each other. Kun trying to calm Jungwoo down who's ready to prove that the older's wrong.
"No! He's alive!"
"I know it!"
"Let me go!"
Those are the phrases Jungwoo's been shouting and Kun couldn't help himself but cry even more because of how Jungwoo's acting. It makes his heart break, a lot.
"Hyung." Mark mumbled after a while of crying on Donghyuck's now wet shoulder. He turned around to look at Jungwoo but regretted instantly when he sees the red eyes of the older with the infinite amount of tears flowing like a waterfall from the latter's eyes and the pink pouted lips quivering and trying to calm the boy down.
"Hyung. Let's face it please." Mark pleaded, walking closely to the older, slowly spreading his arms to touch and comfort his hyung. "Lucas hyung wouldn't want to see you like this, please." Mark pleaded once more and it kinda worked, since Jungwoo's breathing stabilized.
"No." Jungwoo shook his head still not believing any thing they say. "I-I won't believe a-anything you s-say." Jungwoo manage to say despite having quivering lips. "H-he's al-live. A-and no o-one tells m-me that he's–"
"Flight 207 from Hong Kong to Seoul crashed right at the East China Sea, exactly at 1:58 pm. There are 12 survivors all severely injured and 9 dead, including the pilots." Kun read out loud the article he just found minutes ago.
All men in the room went silent, but that cannot easily convince Jungwoo.
"S-see?" He let out an airy chuckle. "T-there wasn't names on it, m-maybe it's just coincidence tha-that it came from H-Hong Kong. R-right?–"
"If he's not there then why didn't he answered his phone 112 times? If he's still alive then why is his name not in the survivors list but on those who were- who were, on that plane crash." Kun started to weep once again as the memory of him reading the name Wong Yukhei on those who are not on the survivors list– Kun couldn't even say or just hear the word 'dead', it's just too much for a word.
Jungwoo shook his head trying to deny it again. He gripped his hair. "No, no, no, no" He mumbled again and again, each word getting louder and louder.
"Hyung"
"No, no, no, no"
"Hyung!"
"No, no, don't call me that, no."
Donghyuck covered his mouth with his hand, trying to hold back his tears with what he's witnessing. His hyung– that he knows has an uncontrollable disease– is now starting to go nuts, still believing Lucas is still alive. And his boyfriend– that he knows has uncontrollable temper– is now trying to calm Jungwoo down.
"HYUNG STOP!" Mark aggressively holds Jungwoo's wrists, looking at the older's doe eyes intently. "Just accept reality, hyung. It's not just hard for you, it's also hard for us!" Mark raised his voice unintentionally, Mark just realized it when he sees Jungwoo's eyes starting to form a waterfall of tears again.
Mark released Jungwoo from his firm grip and wiped his tears too aggressively. He mumbled small sorry's and grabbed his coat before storming out of the room. Donghyuck smiled apologetically before running out of the room to catch up with Mark.
"I'll go out first. I'll come back if you're feeling okay." Kun smiled softly before exiting the room and calling a nurse to go check on Jungwoo already.
Jungwoo was then left all alone, staring blankly at nothing, thinking how he'll start on his life without the boy he's been saving to be with forever. He just let put an airy chuckle before looking up to the ceiling, as tears unintentionally start to slowly fall from his eyes.
He sighed and mumbled sarcastically, "What a great way to start the day."
