Chapter 6: What Are These Feelings?

Meeting Miki has changed my life, I am very aware of that.

She has brighten up my dull and boring life into a more exciting one as I finally have someone to talk to after so long. But I never of what kind of role she would play in my life.

I can never really put a finger on the way I feel around her.

I find her sheepish and cheerful self enchanting and adorable, from the way she speaks during our daily talks to the sound of her laughter.

The way she smiles widely as she talks about the town and her passions.

The fact that I feel my cheeks warm up whenever our fingers touch slightly.

Her gorgeous green eyes that resemble the precious green peridot gemstones I could stare at forever...

"Earth to Melody~ Melody? Princess Melody? Princess Melody!" A voice called out to me that snapped me out of my thoughts.

That was when I only remembered and realized how I was at the weekly teatime session with the other noble woman whose families are close or gained the favor of the royal family.

Wulfrun Triggs, the lady who called out to me, giggled as she asked politely, "It's rare for you to be spacing out, Princess Melody. Did something happen recently?"

I just flashed a smile as I reached out for a teacup and replied before taking a sip on my tea, "Nothing to be worried about, my Dear Wulfrun, it's very sweet of you to be concerned. I just had something on my mind that lead to be spacing out."

"Could it be able a specific someone?" Hellä Rhona asked in curiosity. The moment she asked that, Miki's smiling face calling out to my name unexpectedly flashed into my thoughts which caused me to choke on my tea.

As I began coughing from choking on my tea, the three girls became extremely excited as they shrieked with excitement as Golnaz Gertrude exclaimed excitedly in her high pitched voice, "Oh my goodness! Our Princess Melody has finally find interest in men! Our prayers have been answered ladies!"

"Indeed, indeed! Pays off all the hard work I did praying to the Heaven every night!" Taika Asenath exclaimed as she dramatically wipes her fake tears.

"What prayers-" I asked out of my concerns before getting cut off by the four ladies giving me a group hug in celebration and excitement, crushing me with their bear hug with their surprisingly strong grips.

Wulfrun, Hellä, Taika and Golnaz have been with me since we were all little and since we were close in age, our parents decided to put us together and eventually they became a part of my life.

They aren't bad people or trying to get something out of me, don't get me wrong. They are far from bad, in fact they are too good and I find them annoying as the topics they talk about just never peaked my interest. They know better than anyone on how I never found interest in anybody before so their excitement is understandable.

The four of them are the only exception to those I can tolerate as I have gotten used to them after so long but they will never understand my interest in books and literature, making sense on how Miki is so special in my life.

"Melody, we know you well enough to tell when something is different and will do anything to dig an answer out of you. Right girls?" Wulfrun mentions as the other three nodded in agreement.

These girls are the only few people I have grown to trust and I know their lips are sealed tight so I don't have to worry about whether they will snitch on me. But I still hesitated, avoiding eye contact as I took another sip of my tea.
