Arya Holmes

"You see him?" Dad asked as he talked with some of his coworker on the phone, making me quickly sit up.

As long as he didn't talk about Peter, we'd be fine. "Then grab that damn spider guy or I'll make you loose your job, Eliot!" Dad yelled, making me grab my phone and try to call Peter.

But he didn't answer. I tried and tried all over again but he didn't answer. The stress I felt right now was indescribable, and I heard how dad stormed out of the house with his whole armed cop suit, making me even more nervous.

I've heard them, they've talked for so long about the one and only Spider-Man and how they've tried to get him, so they made a deal that the next time they see him, they're gonna kill him. Just shoot him right in his head and end the "suffering". But the world needs Spider-Man. I need him.

And since he wasn't answering now, I figured I was gonna have to do this on my own. Maybe fake an injury and call for his name, then he'd show up.

That was the only idea I could think of right now, so it was that or nothing. Sweat made its way on my forehead as I ran down the apartment stairs, on my way to try and save him.

Never in a million years, I'd think that dad was gonna be the biggest problem in my life. But everything seems to be going up and down now.

I ran down the street, clenching my jaw harder for every step I took. "Hey!" I yelled, running towards a man that stood on the street, I'd seen him around, I knew he could easily start a fight.

He had been in jail, in the mental hospital, he was basically a freak. And he was dangerous.

Slowly, he turned around and looked at me. He held in a beer bottle. "You wanna fight?" I asked, feeling the adrenaline rush through my veins so bad that I didn't consider my next move at all.

I ran up to him, pushing him back by putting my hands up on his chest. He clenched his jaw, then smashed his bottle against the brick wall behind him, making it break in half.

He held the half bottle up in the air, about to hit it right in my face, when I suddenly felt that familiar wrap around my waist. Peter.

The next second, we were flying in the air, swinging through the skyscrapers. "ARE YOU COMPLETELY INSANE?!" He yelled while holding me.

"Peter, god- I've been trying to call you!" I breathed out.

He parked us down on a rooftop. "My dads coworker saw you, they were on their way to go and shoot you!" I said.

"What? Really?" He asked, taking off his mask and staring at me with a shocked face.

I nodded. "You tried to get yourself in trouble to get me to save you?" He asked, making me nod again. "That's pretty smart, but also incredibly dumb." He said.

Both of us chuckled. As the laughter died, we both silenced and look at each other. "I can't stay here, can I?" He asked.

And I slowly shook my head. "You're in danger, both as Spider-Man and Peter Parker." I said.

"Yeah. I know." He said.

But then, it hit me. "Wait-" I said. "If I convince dad that you didn't hit Adam, then you'd be safe to be around again." I said. "It would solve so many problems." I added.

"Arya, I did hit him." He said.

"Yeah, but if we get dad to see it from your side, then maybe he'd understand. Or you can just hire a lawyer." I said.

He slowly shook his head. "You know what? That still wouldn't help the problem that your dad doesn't like me. It would just make it worse." He said.

"Yeah, but then he doesn't have a reason to put you in jail." I defended.

He shrugged. "Maybe I should just explain to your father what happened." He said. I sighed, not knowing what to answer. "But first, I really want to get a break from this city." He said.

"We should go away." He suggested.

My brows raised in surprise. "Go where?" I asked. "It doesn't really matter, to be honest. My friend and his friends have a cabin that we all rent out to each other. We could go there. It's placed up in the mountains." He said.

"Oh god I'd love that!" I said.
