Ariela's POV
I leaned towards him, he was looking rather oddly at me. When we were only centimetres apart I reached my hand up and wiped the Nutella off of his face.
"Lou, you had Nutella on your face." I told him and started laughing. He looked extremely embarrassed. I think he thought I was going to kiss him. I could tell by the look in his eyes that it was what he was thinking. Wait, does Louis fancy me too? NO! He couldn't! It would crush Liam and Harry. Plus I couldn't date my best mate. Whoa there I just said date, who said anything about dating? Stupid, stupid mind!
"Oh, thanks," he said looking down at his hands, "um, I'm just gonna go and get something to drink." He got up and hurried to the kitchen, it was open so I could see what he was doing. I glanced over at him to see he was gazing straight back at me. I blushed and turned me head back towards my favourite film.
About an hour and a bit later the film was over, Louis left, and I headed to bed. When he had joined me back on the sofa earlier, he sat on the other side creating as much distance as possible between us. I still had no idea why, you know, unless what I had thought earlier was true...
Louis' POV:
I can't believe she was only whipping Nutella off my face, which was so embarrassing! I knew this was too good to be true. She would never fancy me. Wait a sec, do I fancy her? NO LOUIS! You don't, you can't, not after what dad told you a while ago. Damn I had just remembered that! She didn't know either. I couldn't tell her, it wasn't my secret to tell.
You see, a while ago when my dad was still around, he and my mum got a divorce years ago. Anyway, he told me something when he was drunk. I couldn't believe what he had said. It came as such a shock to me that I didn't talk to her for two days. That was saying something; we used to talk 24/7 in year 8. Whether it was in person, on the phone, Skyping, or texting. We would always be talking about something or other.
I went back into the living room after my silent debate on it and sat on the sofa. I sat farthest away from Ariela because I couldn't handle thinking about the way her blue eyes shine, or the way she laughs. God dammit she is so beautiful, and she doesn't even know it. I couldn't develop these feelings for her though. The reason why was huge, I mean, it would change both of our lives. It was the one thing holding me back...
I was her half-brother.
Her mum and my dad were married a long time ago. But my dad cheated on Alex with my mum, that's how I came along. He had cheated on Alex for 7 months before he finally told her. But the night before that one, she told my dad that she was pregnant with Ariela. Denis, the man she called her father was with her since she was born. Alex filed for divorce as soon as she heard about the cheating. Not a single soul knew about this besides Ariela's mum's family, my Dad's family and me. I really regret knowing this because if I didn't, I would have asked Ela out a long time ago.
The film ended so I packed my things, said goodbye to my sister, not without a hug of course, and left to go back to my house. I know I have to tell her. I just don't when or how.
Ariela's POV:
I woke up the next morning, or should I say afternoon at 2:00pm to my phone blaring Call Me Maybe. I didn't look at the caller ID as I was way too tired. Well that was a big mistake.
"Hello?" I said groggily into the phone.
"ARI I MISS YOU!" I heard Dani cry out. She kept sobbing, it was breaking my heart.
"Oh my gosh Dani, I miss you too, how are you love?" I asked her feeling perfectly awake now. It tore me apart to be without my little sister. But it was for the best, I would only cause her a great deal of trouble.
