chapter 14

I knocked on the red door in front of me and waited for a few seconds before Zadie, came to the door and smiled at me.

"Hey girl!" Zadie said excitedly, as she saw me.

"Hey." I replied with a bright smile.

"Come in." She said and gestured with her hands for me to step into her house.

I walked in and we stood there in silence for a couple of seconds.

"So what are we going to do?" I asked looking around her hall and breaking the silence.

"I was thinking we could watch a movie? I can make us popcorn." She laughed.

"Okay, sounds good."

A few minutes passed and i was now sitting in Zadie's living room on the couch. Zadie had gone to the kitchen to get us drinks and make some popcorn.

"Here you go." Zadie said as she passed me a glass which had lemonade in.

"Thank you." I smiled at her and she sat down next to me. She put the bowl of popcorn in the middle of us and started flicking through movie recommendations.

"Do you like Titanic?" Zadie asked.

"Yes! It's one of my all time favorites." I said in excitement.

"Me too girl!" She said, returning my excitement.

"Wanna watch it?" She asked, chuckling.

"I could never say no to titanic." I said, also chuckling.

- 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙥 -

We had been watching titanic for more than 35 minutes now, both of us had been acting out certain scenes because we knew the movie off by heart and we had also been talking about our unconditional love for Leonardo DiCaprio.

We both sat down after acting out one of our favorite parts, we were panting and laughing.
I felt my phone vibrate next to me so i grabbed it and saw a message from an unknown number come up.

𝙐𝙣𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙣: 𝙃𝙚𝙮 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚.

𝙈𝙚: 𝙃𝙚𝙮, 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨?

𝙐𝙣𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙣: 𝙂𝙖𝙗𝙚.

I sighed in relief knowing it was Gabe and not someone from my old town, as i had changed my number when i left that town just so i could have a fresh start. But i was still confused as to why Gabe was texting me and how he got my number..

𝙈𝙚: 𝙊𝙝, 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙮 𝙣𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙮 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙚?

𝙂𝙖𝙗𝙚: 𝘿𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙮 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙚𝙛𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙢𝙮 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙚, 𝙨𝙤 𝙞 𝙨𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙣𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙚.

I felt my cheeks flush red for some reason.. he was on a date with his girlfriend, my cousin.. and he wanted to text me? He called me his dear friend when we had only been friends for a couple of days. It was sweet that he thought of me as someone he could text whenever he wanted.

"Is everything alright?" Zadie asked me as she noticed i was missing half the good scenes in the movie that me and her could of acted out.

"Oh yeah." I replied and turned my phone off and looked at the screen.

"Your cheeks are red.. who is the person you are crushing on?" She questioned and casually grinned.

"What? I'm not crushing on anyone. What are you talking about." I scoffed.

"Totally." She rolled her eyes in a jokey way and looked back at the tv.

I brushed it off and saw the next scene that was on was one of my favorites.

"Omg, come on we have to act this one out!" I said, grabbing Zadie's arms and pulling her up.

"Okay, okay." She laughed.

We both giggled and acted out the scenes like we were the true actors of the movie.
