"hey jongho!" y/n said, walking into the store where her boyfriend worked as a cashier. she leaned on the counter and smiled at him, as no one else was in the store
"hi, what's up?" jongho said, looking up from the computer where he was googling something
"what's that?" y/n said, reaching over to grab the monitor before jongho snatched it away
"my eyes only" jongho said coldly, moving the monitor away from her a little
"okay whatever.. what time will you be off work?"
y/n said, looking at the clock that was on the wall as it was already 5pm.
"yeah, i probably won't see you until tomorrow." jongho said, staring at his computer screen
"oh really?" y/n said lowly, as jongho didn't even sound disappointed at all
"well.. i'll see you.. tomorrow" y/n mumbled, shutting the door with a loud slam on the way out
"what's up with her?" jonghos coworker youngbin asked, emerging from the back door with a bag of food in his hand
"what do you mean?" jongho said, staring at him with his head tilted slightly in confusion
"didn't she just slam the door?"
"no.. she does that a lot" he mumbled, narrowing his eyes at the computer screen
"are you gonna pay for that food?" jongho said, scoffing at him
"no.. i work here so i'm basically paying through labour" youngbin said confidently, rolling his eyes playfully at jongho
"whatever, get me some too" jongho replied, finally shutting off the monitor
"he's so invested in the computer screen, he probably doesn't even know i left" y/n mumbled to herself as she walked through the street.
"y/n!" she heard someone yell from across the street. she looked over to see her roommate waving her arms frantically at her
"what is it soojin?" she yelled, checking the road before she ran across
"can you help me carry these boxes back to ours? pleaseeeee?" she begged, dropping one of the boxes on the floor for y/n
"i guess.. i don't have anything better to do tonight anyway" she said, grabbing a box and holding it to her chest
"thank you! you're the best!" her friend said, trying to hug her although she had a stack of boxes. y/n just laughed at her and began walking, soojin slowly following behind her as her pile was a lot larger.
"so why do you need me?" youngbin said, panting as he walked up a hill with jongho
"well, i need you to run down when i say and make up a story that will bring y/n to me"
"so you made me climb... ALL THE WAY UP HERE? you could've called me!" youngbin said, collapsing to the ground dramatically with a loud groan of annoyance
"hm.. yeah" jongho hummed back in response, laying out a blanket in-front of him
"youngbin! get up!" jongho yelled, causing him to jump up in fear
"IM UP! i'm.. up" he yawned, rubbing his eyes with the back of his hands
"go and find my girlfriend" he said sternly. youngbin quickly sighed and shook his head in disapproval before running down the hill
"he's like a puppet, he will do anything i say" jongho said, laughing to himself
y/n walked along the harbour, occasionally glancing down into the water as she sighed.
"maybe he's bored of me? i mean what was he hiding on the computer?" she said to herself as she continued walking
"why did i wear stupid heels today of all shoes?" she said in frustration as her feet started to hurt, she quickly took them off and carried them to the end of the harbour. she sat on a bench and stared out to sea, it was so quiet since it was night time.
"y/n!" she heard someone yell in the distance, she turned her head in confusion before seeing jongho's friend youngbin running along the harbour to her.
she got up and stared at him in shock, she saw how exhausted he was and he had clearly ran a long way.
"there's an emergency" he said out of breath, grabbing her arm
"please follow me" he said, not giving her a choice and dragging her
"wait let me put my shoes on!" she yelled at him, causing him to flinch. he quickly let go and allowed her to put her shoes on before dragging her with him again.
"just keep going up that hill, okay? you'll see what it is!" he quickly ran away, leaving y/n alone in a forest. she shivered and looked around, trying to locate the path in the dark. she slowly began to walk, cautious as to what was waiting for her at the end of the path. if it was such an emergency why didn't youngbin go with her? and where tf is jongho?
as she reached the top she saw jongho standing there, he didn't react he just stared at her with his hands behind his back.
"what's going on?" y/n said, looking at the view from the top of the hill
"here's our date" he said as he smiled at her, grabbing one of her hands
"wow... it's pretty!" she said, admiring the view around her
"you're prettier" he said, smirking at her
"yeah whatever" she said, jokingly hitting him on the arm.
"let's go sit down" he said, guiding her to a blanket that was laid out by the edge. as they both sat down y/n laid her head on his shoulder and sighed in relief.
"y/n?" jongho suddenly said, still looking out to the distance
"hmmm?" she hummed in confusion, staring at his side profile
"i have a present for you actually" he said, turning his head to face her. she looked at him with a confused expression on her face, since there was no special occasion today, so why would she need a gift?
he reached into his backpack which was laying next to him and pulled out a small black box, smirking at y/n
"wh-what is that?" she stuttered out, her heart began to beat rapidly in her chest as she came to realisation. his smirk grew into a smile as he opened the box, revealing a ring.
"will you marry me y/n?" jongho said calmly, the opposite to y/n who started freaking out. before she could answer she started crying hysterically, jongho just stared in shock at the situation
"uhh, is that a yes or no?" he said, looking around awkwardly. as she was crying too much to talk she decided to just kiss him on the lips instead, whilst frantically nodding her head at him. jongho smiled at her once again, pulling her in for a hug.
"we have been lying here for a while now.." jongho said to y/n, who was using his arm as a pillow next to him.
"yeah, it's nice" y/n said, smiling at the stars above them
"yeah but i am cold... i gave you my hoodie"
"that's because you love me!" y/n said smugly, rolling over to hug jongho
"no it's because you wore a dress..." jongho said, causing y/n to sit up and gasp at him.
"so you don't love me?" y/n said, pretending to be offended and crossing her arms
"no! i love you! i love you so much!" jongho yelled, pulling her into a hug once again
