A Good Pet

"Master?" He looked at me with almost a proud smile when I humbly addressed him like this. Yes, his pet could learn, and I wanted him to know that I could learn… and this night I had perfectly learned who my true Master was, as much as he had learned who his truly devoted pet was.
Had I really thought that the last time had been the fuck of my life? I had reconsidered that meanwhile. Had he already had me under his spell the last time, I was his totally brainwashed slave now. He knew humans perfectly, knew their needs, their desires and their fears… and all this knowledge worked perfectly with me now, had turned me into his will-less and subservient bootlicker for good… and so totally and completely that even my head had given in and had stopped objecting. Nonetheless it didn't stop my curiosity…
"What is it, my pet?" he asked generously and caressed my cheek when I had cuddled against him. He had been kind enough to stay, sharing the bed with me like a human might have done… after I had begged him desperately to do so and to not leave his pet alone tonight.

"Are… are you pleased with your pet's pathetic efforts?" I asked and looked up to him. "I… your pet knows it can't please you physically, Master… and it doesn't mean it that way." I hastily proceeded when I saw the change in his expression, knowing that he wasn't seeking or needing physical pleasure. He had told me so the very first day and I had paid attention.
"What did my pet mean instead?" he asked and caressed my cheek again with his left hand. I kissed it and lowered my gaze. "Your hand, my good Master. Does it… does it work the way it should? The way it did before?" He softly crawled through my hair and started massaging my scalp. "Does this suffice as an answer?" "O yes, Master… o please…" I whispered with a moan and went completely boneless from this sensation. "What a cuddly little kitten my pet is…" he growled and I started to purr underneath his gentle fingertips. "If your pet could, it would become a little furry ball on your lap and spend the whole day there." I groaned joyfully and rolled up into a ball against his firm abs. "Unfortunately I wouldn't have that much time for you. I need to go on with my own project. But thanks to you I'm finally able to speed up my progress." A cold shiver rolled over my body. He had said 'finally'. Did that mean…?

"Does… does that mean… the Master's little pet has… fulfilled its purpose now?" I whispered, hardly able to control my voice when my throat felt like tightening up, and looked up to him, feeling tears burn in my eyes. His expression was blank, giving me no hint what happened behind his blue eyes.
"So afraid, my little pet? Although you just seemed to be the happiest little pet in the Universe?" "Your pet can't forget what its Master told it the very first day…" I sniffled and kissed his fingers. "And it still begs you for its tiny, little and worthless life, Master. Your pet enjoys serving you… please have the mercy to let it serve you a little more. Maybe your pet could help its Master with his project… it would be delighted if it could… please, Master David." He looked at me and said nothing, neither to my plea nor to my offer. He simply put his hand over my eyes to make me close them.

"I will consider your words, my sweet pet. Sleep now safely in your Master's arms with beautiful dreams. I will tell you my decision in the morning." he answered with his mildest tone and softly kissed my neck. His lean, perfect body became a tick warmer when he spooned me in his embrace and it made me feel comforted and protected. Although I was still shivering a bit, something told me that I would wake up tomorrow, safe and sound… that he had told me the truth and wouldn't kill me during my sleep. I believed a lot, but not that David was a liar. "Thank you… Master…" I whispered and drifted into sleep.

When I woke up I was alone and felt a little disappointed about it, but on the other hand he had told me that he had his own project running, whatever that was. My curiosity jumped me again. What was his project? Would he maybe let me help with it? Or…
Was it part of his project that the colonists disappeared one by one? He had said that each of us had a purpose for him and after fulfilling it… he had never said what would happen then, but it was rather obvious what would happen then.

I left my cuddly bed and got dressed, finding a note attached to my door, handwritten. David never seized to amaze me. I had assumed a lot, but surely not that he would leave handwritten post-its for me. 'Eat! Or else…' was all it said in a clear, but finely swung style. So this was a distinct command from my Master, but it wouldn't have been necessary. I left my quarters to go to the galley. I was so hungry as if I hadn't eaten for several days.

Well, in fact I had hardly eaten the last few days, although David had tried to make me, but when I had a project running, then I was a Junkie running on nothing but coffee and denied food almost completely. David had scolded me for it several times, and rightfully so. But since he knew that his pet would be more obedient from now on he had simply ordered it. I was happy to oblige and ready to plunder cupboards and drawers for anything edible when entering the galley… to be surprised and truly amazed. David seemed to have prepared something for breakfast, including his black life elixir. O God, how nice of him… He really wanted to take good care of his pet… and he obviously remembered that I was a disaster in the kitchen. I stepped closer to the table and found another note: 'I dare you to leave leftovers, my pet.' "O, I won't, my good Master." I growled with a smile and started to attack what David had prepared. It was wonderful. Was there anything he could not do? I truly wished this moment to spend the rest of my life by his side, either way if it was as his pet, his lab rat, his Physician or whatever would please him… but he wouldn't grant me this, I knew it. If he was generous he'd give me a few more days, maybe. If not… hours, maybe? I started to poke around in my food, having lost my appetite completely all of a sudden. If I'd die anyway then it was wasted… on the other side, when we all were gone there would nobody be left to eat the stuff, except David. Hang on… was this the way he restored his energy? Human food? My curiosity peaked again.

"What part of 'eat' did my pet not understand?" I flinched and the fork dropped from my hands to land on the floor with a loud 'ping'. Quickly I bowed down to pick it up again and turned towards the door. No David… but he had just spoken to me. I looked around at the galley and saw the Intercom light blinking. He watched me from somewhere.
I rose from my chair and went to the Intercom. "Your pet thanks you for your kind care, Master, but… after these last few days it is a bit too much. Your pet can't force it down." I tried to explain and the small screen of the Intercom lit up. David looked at me with a more than unhappy face.

"Don't make me force you to eat, my pet. What I prepared is a normal breakfast for a human of your size and weight. And your objection was already taken into account. You will sit down and finish your breakfast, my pet, or you'll get to know your Master." A cold shiver rolled down my back and an invisible force pressed my head down into an obedient nod. "Yes, Master David." I answered and did as told.
