This chapter is a bit short since it is more of a filler chapter, but it is necessary. I'm saving the next day in the story for chapter XIII.
I slip my backpack off of my shoulders and flop face-first on my bed.
Today was a long day, and I don't know if I made the right choice to agree to let Violet and Retz help me. But hey, what's done is done.
Ding!
My phone dings in my pocket, signaling that I've gotten a text. Wonder who it could be?
I look at my Lock Screen and show it's from an unknown number. I open the text and read it.
{Unknown Number}: Hey there! It's me, Gon!
Oh, it's from Gon. I have the perfect name for his contacts. I go into my contacts and change the unknown number's name to 💚Green Boi💚.
Hi Gon! What's up?
{💚Green Boi💚}: Not much, I was just checking in with you. Wanna FaceTime?
Sure.
My phone rings and I accept the call. I see Gon sitting crisscrossing on the floor building with Legos, it looks like he's building a Lego dinosaur. Man, you can never get too old for Legos.
"What ya building?"
"A lego dinosaur." Gon says as he snaps two Legos together
"Yeah, but what type of dinosaur?" I ask I like dinosaurs, scratch that, I LOVE dinosaurs!
"Uhhhhhh... I have no idea, it doesn't say in the box."
I pull out my Chromebook and login, looking through my assignments to see if the ones from when I was sick are posted yet.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm looking to see if the homework from when I was missing was posted yet."
I grab my notebook and a pencil from my backpack and go under the math module, god, I hate math. But I gotta do it if I want to pass and graduate from this hellhole.
"Can you believe it's almost the end of the year already?" Gon says it reminds me that after this year, I'm off to college. I gotta pick a college and graduate, move into a dorm, and have a roommate. "We're going to graduate soon!"
"Please don't remind me of that." I don't like the word 'college'. I want to stay young forever, I'm getting old, I'm growing up, I knew this day would come but I'm not sure if I'm ready for it yet.
"What colleges are you looking to apply to?"
"I'm looking to apply to The College of Rivendale, it's not too far away, and I heard it's a really good college!" Gon says that's the same place I'm going to apply to too!
"Really?! I'm going to apply there too!" I say ecstatic, I wonder where everyone else is going to apply for. I know that me and Khai, Kurapika, and Leorio won't be at the same college. Khai wants to go into forensics, Leorio wants to get into the medical field, Kurapika wants to get into criminal justice, and I'm not sure about Retz. He wants to go to Broadway.
"If we both get in, then we can be roommates!"
That solves the roommate problem if we both get into The College of Rivendale.
I and Gon ramble on about random things, it's easy to talk to him, we talk just like we've been best friends forever, maybe Violet and Retz were right. It's might be easier to bond and get closer to Gon than I thought.
"Killua, can I tell you something?" Gon says out of the blue, he sounds... Nervous? "Promise me you won't tell anyone else?"
"I promise."
"You promise?"
"Cross my heart, hope to die."
"Okay," Gon sighs, it's making me nervous. "I'm no longer bisexual, I'm gay."
My nervousness fades away and a smile creeps its way onto my face. It seems like things are looking up on my part, maybe I do have a shot.
"I will support you no matter what. And don't worry, your secret is safe with me until you're ready to come out to everyone else."
"Thank you, Killua."
"But, I have a question."
"Yes?"
"Why didn't you tell me instead of any of your other friends you've known for years?"
"It doesn't matter how long you've been friends," Gon tells me. For once, he sounds wise. "It's about how close you've grown within the amount of time you've been friends, and how much you trust that person."
"Since when did you become so wise?"
"Never have been!" Gon says jokingly and laughs, I laugh along with him. His happiness just seems to radiate off and onto everything and everyone around him.
I get my homework done as we chat, it makes it a lot more fun to work. We talk like we've known each other for years, with only a few words we've become close. I smile the entire time I'm on the phone with him, I just can't stop. He makes all my worries and sadness go away, it's like magic.
"Bye Killua, I do my chores!" Gon says as he finishes his legs dinosaur. "I promised Mito-San that I would do them after I finished making my dinosaur. See you tomorrow!"
"Bye Gon, see you tomorrow!"
Gon hangs up and I laugh to myself a little bit. How can one person make me so goddamn happy? I don't know, but I love it, I love him.
I don't know if The College Of Rivendale exists, I randomly made it up-
