Living with Jason ended up being fun in Anais' opinion. She realized that considering the number of times when they joked around, played video games and trained together every day, they were quite lucky to not have ripped each other's throat out by now.Anais and Jason were both good tricksters, video gamers and fighters. On top of that they were exceeding in being sore losers. Neither of them wanted to admit defeat, hence the last 63 arguments in less then 24 hours. Sure, they were arguing... a lot, but it wasn't just harsh words being thrown at each other's face. It looked more like an old couple pecking at each other than anything else, really.
Neither of them understood or remembered how they became that way if each other. It just came naturally, in the end. They just didn't take themselves seriously. They gave space to one another and respected their privacy. Jason knew Anais could read his mind but never really made a fuss about it. And Anais knew that Jason had a risky 'job' that he continued doing even without his father's approval. She didn't care about it. What she cared about was his well being, not actually what he was doing in his private life.
After a few days and nights spent together, they installed a routine between them:
She would wake up at six in the morning, make breakfast for them both and wait for him to come out of his bedroom. She, most of the time would read one the combat books in the library until eight, when he regularly woke up. They would both eat breakfast in silence, still too asleep to properly function. Then, they would change and train for about two or three hours, before she would take a shower and change while he made dinner. They would eat separately, her; reading, him; studying.
At two in the afternoon, they would regroup, wash the dishes and play video games or Anais' favorite game... Twister! They would usually play until 17h. Then would train again, before eating out. After supper, between 19h and 21h, Jason would accompany Anais to her room. Sometimes he would stay beside her until she was sound asleep, other times he would hug her wish her a goo night of sleep and leave her be...
Anais would sleep while Jason would verify the city's cameras files, Gotham's police radio transmissions and even defy Bruce's orders to not engage villains without permission. When Robin had a rough night, he would take a shower and crawl in his friend's bed. He wanted to feel safe while he slept after a hard and long solo mission, so he did just that. Most of the times she didn't woke up, even when Jason cuddled her all night long. It was natural now, it just felt right to do so.
One night though, he did accidently wake her up...
That particular night, he had fought thugs on the street for a total of three hours before returning home. Tired, he entered Anais' dark room. So... what could have a tired Jason Todd do to wake his friend up?
He tripped over his own feet! You would think that being a vigilante meant that he had to always be careful and sneaky. Guess not!
Or was it because of his sleep deprived body, taking the opportunity to rush itself to the floor trying in vain to knock him out?
Either way, the ruckus he made at two in the morning easily woke her up from her slumber. Waking up, she groggily smiled at him. Happy to see him come in her room.
" Hey there... " she said.
" Hey... " he responded before jumping into bed.
Anais groaned loudly still bouncing because of his rough landing on the mattress.
" It's not because I'm technically woken up that you can just make me have a headache. " She turned to her side, facing him. " How was it, tonight? "
" It went pretty great, I kicked ass and fucked up a lot of mercenaries... "
