Welcome <3
Please read this chapter till the end! The real Camilo x Reader starts in the 2nd chapter, but I wanted to give this whole thing sense, as in how you even got there"Y/N...!" you heard your name echo in the distance. Everything was blurry but you focused on the familiar voice that was calling your name. "Y/N!"
You woke up sweating and breathing heavily. Another nightmare. It wasn't a terrifying nightmare, like when your being chased and can't run, but more like a bad memory, or something you'd rather not remember. You know the voice. This familiar voice was none other than your fathers.
You shook it off since this wasn't the first time you experienced this weird dream and focused on your surroundings. You are laying down beneath a tree, it's raining and early in the morning, you guess 7am.
'I need to get there! I need to find that place' you thought to yourself. You sat up and reached for your backpack, taking a book out of it and searching for a particular page. When you found it, you read the informations and thoughts that your father wrote down on that piece of paper. It was about a woman who he saw as a mother. My father was an orphan and she and her husband found him on the streets, gave him food and shelter and patched him up. He wrote about how he loved her deeply and was still very sad since the day he lost her. She was like a mother to him. A mother he never had.
A lot of bandits attacked their town that night, they got separated. After that he never heard of her again.
But he wrote how he heard of multiple rumors and story's of a family named the Madrigals living in a magical place, rum by someone who the people referred to as Abuela Madrigal. He knew it was her and found out as much information as he could and finally got an decent map of where she could be.Your father, who sadly passed away, told you right before his death, that you should look for that place and search for that woman to make sure she was ok. And for you to find a place to live, since you have no one except your father. Of course you couldn't reject that dying wish of your father so you started on a journey to find the Madrigals. You are on this journey for far to long now but you won't give, up no matter what.
You put the book back into your backpack and got up. You took a deep breath before putting on that backpack, taking the map and continuing on your journey. After what felt like hours of walking you noticed something.
Mountains in the distance, that looked like the ones on the map! You couldn't belive your own eyes and gasped in disbelieve. You started to jump and cheer in joy because you have finally found the place after weeks or maybe a month of struggling. You started walking towards the mountains with a kind of enthusiasm, you had never experienced before. When you finally reached them, you searched for a way in, and after you found one, you were greeted by a not to big town with a LOT of roses as decoration. It was quiet since it was nighttime when you arrived but it was breathtaking. It seemed... Peaceful and almost magical. You walked on the streets searching for a place to sleep. 'No motels or hotels?' '...' well it is understandable. The town for sure doesn't get a lot of visitors from the outside.
Since there were no motels or hotels, you decide to sleep in an small alley in between a couple of houses. You woke up to a lot of noise early in the morning. Maybe 8am? You sat up rubbing your eyes and sighing before standing up, putting on your backpack and walking out the alley into a VERY lively street. You saw a lot of people walking around and chatting like they were the closest kind of family. You were almost jealous. After a minute of just staring at the street and people, you felt your stomach rumble.
You walked up to a small shop and asked for a loaf of bread and an apple. It wasn't much but all you could afford at the moment. "Here you go!" the person who owns the shop said. "Thank you a lot" you said with a smile. "You're welcome!" they answered with a smile aswell. "Hey...i have a question. Are you from around here? I haven't seen you before" they asked curiously. "Oh... Um I am actually new here heh..." you said a bit awkwardly. "New here? But how?" they gasped. "Oh, um... Gotta go now! Thanks for the food!" you quickly said and ran away. 'Is it really that weird to be new here?' you thought to yourself. After eating you just continued to explore the town.
A few hours later you were thrown off by a person... Singing? With a bunch of kids. The Girl had Green Glasses and a pretty skirt, singing about miracles and a family she was part of. You followed her out of curiosity and then it hit you. She wasn't just singing about any family, she way singing about the Madrigals! 'The Madrigals! Finally, I found them!' You thought in excitement and started running after her like the other kids, until we stopped infront of an giant, colorful house, or almost a mansion.
"Mirabel, what are you doing?!" an old lady asked with an questioning look on her face
"Ohh- they just asked about the family and stuff, so I-"
"WE WANNA KNOW ABOUT MIRABELS SUPER AWESOME GIFT!" an kid interrupted her.
"Oh, Mirabel didn't get one, mh" a girl said and quickly walked away.
"Whaaat?" all the children said in an chorus and walked away with and disappointed look on their faces.
After a few moments of awkward silence, you finally walked up to the girl. "Hey, Mirabel? My name is Y/N and I was wondering if you know a person called Abuela Madrigal?" you asked. "Abuela Madrigal? Of course! She's my grandma, why?" Mirabel asked. "Oh, um... I am kinda looking for her, and I REALLY need to talk to her. It's urgent." You said a bit worried. 'I hope I can see her... I really really really don't want to wait a second longer' you thought to yourself.
"Oh of course! If it's urgent." She said and led me into their house that was weirdly moving by itself. "Hey, why are the tiles and windows moving like that?" you asked. "Oh, your not from around here I assume? Our casita is alive and giving our family shelter." she answered. "Oh" was all you could say at that moment. "Hey Abuela! Someone needs to speak to you" Mirabel said gaining the attention of her grandmother. Abuela looked at you and waited for you to start talking. "I'm really sorry for bothering you, you seem to have a lot of work..." you started. "My name is Y/N and I was sent here to search for you" you said. "Y/N? I am not familiar with that name... Who are you?" she said with a questioning tone. You grabbed a picture of you dad in his young years and showed it to her. She was shocked and grabbed the picture, just staring at it in disbelief, and then staring at you. "That man on the picture is my father... And he kinda sent me here? Well he asked me to find you as his dying wish" you said a bit quiet. "Dying wish.. So he has passed away?" she asked. You just nod. "You... Came all the way here, just to honor his last wish. You are truly an amazing person Y/N" she praised you. "It was the least I could do." you said with full honesty.
"How about..." She thought. "How about you stay here, with us? After all that time of searching for us, for your father who is very important for me aswell. It is the least I can do" She said with a smile on her face.
The 'casita' decided to wave you with her windows and you waved back with a smile.
"Casita already seems to like you" Mirabel said with a small chuckle. "Follow me! I asume you'll be living with me in the nursery from now on" she said, leading you to your new room. "Nursery? Isn't that for like toddlers or infants-" You asked a bit confused. "Well... It was supposed to be an temporary room for the members of our family until they receive their gifts..." she sighed. Suddenly the air was filled with sadness and tension.
"Hey Mirabel! Don't worry about it... It must be hard for you, but please know that I won't judge or value you because of your gift, but because of the person you are!" you tried to cheer her up. "Thank you Y/N" she said. "Well, feel yourself at home! I will be helping my family with the decorations! My cousin Antonio will be getting his gift tonight" she said happily. "Oh, that's awesome! I bet it'll be a really cool gift" you said. She agreed and then left the room. You were left alone and only heard the noise from outside. You put your things from your backpack beside an empty bed and sat down looking at the picture of your father."I did it dad"
