That night, we sat around a campfire with Ego. "I hired Yondu to pick you and Kaitlyn up when your mothers passed away." Ego explained. He looks at Peter. "But instead of returning you, Yondu kept you. I have no clue as to why."

"Well, I'll tell you why. Because I was a skinny little kid who could squeeze into places adults couldn't. It made it easier for thievin.'" Peter says.

Ego looks at me. "I wasn't sure why Yondu didn't keep you after finding Peter. I mean why separate you two? He left you in a city somewhere and I've been trying to track you both ever since."

"I thought Yondu was your father." Drax says, looking at Peter.

"What? We've been together this whole time and you thought Yondu was my actual blood relative?" Peter asks.

"You look exactly alike." Drax says.

"One's blue!" Rocket says.

"No, he's not my father! Yondu was the one who abducted me, kicked the crap out of me so I could learn to fight, and kept me in fear by threatening to eat me." Peter says.

"Eat you?" Ego says, confused.

"Yeah." Peter replies.

"How'd you locate us now?" Gamora asks.

"Well, even where I reside, out past the edge of what's known we've heard tell about the man they call Star-Lord. We've even heard stories about Kaitlyn saving the world with the Avengers!" Ego exclaims. "What say we head out there right now? Your associates are welcome. Even that triangle-faced monkey there. I promise you, it's unlike any other place you've ever seen. And there, I can explain your very special heritage. Finally get to be the father I've always wanted to be. Excuse me. I've gotta take a whiz."

I gave Ego a weird look as he walks over to a tree to use the bathroom
