I looked into the mirror one last time as I fixed my hair before stepping out of the car. Church bells were tolling as I crushed the remaining bit of my cigarette under my boot and stepped inside.
Among the people in black, there were a few known faces from the club. I saw him sitting on a back bench from the corner of my eye. He winked at me when our eyes locked. I controlled my smirk and moved towards the front, where I saw Alessandro consoling Viola as she cried on his shoulders uncontrollably.

A loving friend and a caring daughterLoving friend? I scoffed internally as I placed the bouquet of roses on the casket.
"Do you think they are going to fall for it ?" I mumbled softly as I kept my gaze in the front.
"Of course, love." He looked down at me as his lips twitched into a smirk.36 hours ago
"Time to play, baby."I was too drunk to think straight, so I followed him without arguing. After a lot of walking, he stopped in front of the terrace gate.
"What are -?" I squealed.
He turned around and signalled me to keep quiet."You don't talk unless I ask you, okay."
I kept my finger on my lips and nodded mindlessly as I rolled my eyes.
He took out his phone and began to type something; I frowned and looked into the screen as my chin rested on his shoulder. They were right when they said alcohol dims people's senses. Hell, I couldn't see anything; everything felt so fucking blurry."Why don't you tell me anything ?" I complained.
"I need you to stay close to me, love". He whispered.
My eyebrows frowned in confusion. We heard footsteps in our direction. Suddenly Lorenzo grabbed my arm and went towards the terrace.
He pushed me beside a wall and stood in front of me, our noses inches apart.
"Wha-" He placed his finger on my lips, making my breathing hitch in surprise.
"Viola? What is that you wanted to talk about?"
My eyes widened when I realised the owner of the voice. I could see her shadow on the front wall.
"VIOLA! What kind of fuckery -" I looked from the corner of the wall to see her stumbling and falling.
Lorenzo loosened his grip on my shoulders and went near her. I followed him.
"Hello, Aurora"
"Who are you ?" She was on her knees as she looked up at us. Her voice was barely audible.
"How rude not to introduce myself; I am Lorenzo, Lorenzo DeVille. And this lady right here, well, you know her, don't you ?" He chuckled.
She groaned in pain as she struggled to look up at us.
"What have you done to her?" I held his arm and turned him towards me.
"I mixed an exceptional kind of medicine in her drink."
My eyes widened. "You drugged her ?!?"
He shrugged as a cheeky grin appeared on his face.
"Soon, she won't be able to speak and move her body."
"WHAT?"
He looked at her in satisfaction as she groaned in pain.
"Help me, Caterina, I know I shouldn't have -
Her voice was barely audible. At that moment, I pitied her, but there was a corner in my body that felt good. I don't know. Maybe because of how she had treated the other strippers and me.
Lorenzo crouched down near and whispered something into her ears. A glint of fear was visible in her eyes. Suddenly he held her neck and made her stand.
She breathed heavily as he carried her towards the edge of the roof.
"Come on, Luv, end her. It's time for you to rule this place."
"But this is against the law." I stuttered.
"Baby, we are the law."
I gulped in fear.
"Do you not want to take revenge on the people who have wronged you ?"
I nodded.
A voice in my head that envied her wanted her dead. It wanted power and freedom. It wanted everything she had.
She has to die.
There can't be two queens."People like them have always been sacrificed for people like us to rule Caterina. She is just collateral damage."
I nodded my head in consideration as I moved toward her.
She continued to move her lips, but no words escaped. The drug has started working. I need to be quick before the effect wears off.
Suddenly my gaze fell on her teary eyes, but it couldn't tame my demons. The voice inside my head was too selfish to see her pain.
Lorenzo held her in the front as he looked at me with his intense grey orbs. I took a deep breath and pushed her."I'm sorry, but you need to die."
I gasped in shock as she fell. My body shivered as I watched her fall down. I closed my eyes after hearing a loud thud.
"Come on; we need to get down before someone sees us." He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and rushed towards the same room as before.
I breathed heavily as a tear escaped my eyes. I can't believe I killed someone. I looked down at my hands as a teardrop fell on my palm.
"Hey, hey, don't cry, Luv." He said as he wiped my tears with the tip of his thumb.
I closed my eyes and bit my lips to stop the tears from falling. Suddenly he pulled me closer to his chest and hugged me, wrapping his warm arms around my body.
"It's either you or them, sweetheart. You are too precious to die over family rivalries."
I pulled off first."What if the police investigate it ?" I mumbled.
"She was high on drugs and fell off the terrace, a simple accident." He shrugged casually.
I nodded in consideration.Aurora was a casual drug consumer, so no one would ever doubt it. This man did plan all this out.
