The Ramyeon House

CHAPTER TWO

Jake got home and saw Sunghoon lying on the sofa with the TV on. The storm was now out in Korea's area. He sighed with relief. He covered Sunghoon's body with blanket and turns off the TV. He wash his face then brush his teeth and sleep.

He wokes up early and cook for breakfast. He got to school and Sunghoon stays home, Sunghoon is studying for his up coming exam. They don't have a class too because they're getting ready for the exam.

Jake got to school.

Someone kocks that made Sunghoon lose his concentration in studying. He opens the door. "Good day my friend." Ethan smiled while holding his bag. Sunghoon smiled, "Good day too. Get in." Sunghoon gets in then, Ethan closed the door. "Are you studying already?" Ethan asked then puts his bag on the sofa. "Yes, I did. I have lot to do." Sunghoon answered who is busy looking for something to eat in the fridge. He grabs the box of donut then ate up.

"I told you to wait for me. Why didn't you wait for me?" Ethan's forehead crampled. "Huh? You didn't told me." Sunghoon answered then sats on the dinning table while chewing. "I texted you, hoon." Ethan sighed then sats beside Sunghoon. "Oh. My phone is dead. Sorry." Sunghoon sighed. Ethan rolled his eyes. "Let's just study."

While studying  Ethan's stomach starts growling. He held his stomach. "Hoon. Aren't you hungry?" He looks at Sunghoon who is busy reading. "I'm not hungry. Are you?" Sunghoon is still reading. "Ye--yes." he said. "Do you mind if I cook some ramyeon and spam?" He added then stands up to get the ramyeon and spam on the cabinet.

Sunghoon nods. He suddenly, cooks the ramyeon and spam. He ate a lot and studied again. "You really love ramyeon huh?" Sunghoon chuckled who is sipping some soup from the ramyeon. "Yes. My family really does." Ethan smiled. "Yuh. Would they open a store full of any kinds of ramyeon, if they don't love ramyeon?" Sunghoon chuckled. Ethan looks at him. "By the way. Are you alone here?" Ethan drinks the water. "No. I'm with Jaeyun." Sunghoon is reading. Ethan nods. Jaeyun? Was that Jake? Sunghoon is Jake's roommate? Hmm.

"How is he?" Ethan asked. "Good. We were best friends since we were kids." Sunghoon smiled. "Oh. He works at your store." Sunghoon added. "Oh. Really?" Ethan pretended.  Sunghoon nods. "You don't know him?" Sunghoon's forehead crampled. Ethan shook then looks away. "I don't. You know, I'm just new on the store. My dad wants me to do OJT in our store. Atleast, I can learn how he manage our little business. And I will learn why my "soon" to be employees are important." Ethan sighed.

"Well yeah. You need to do what your dad said or you will be back to Philippines again." Sunghoon chuckled. Ethan sighed. "He don't know how beautiful to build a business in the Philippines." He rolled his eyes. "Filipino's are hospitable so it's easy to build a business in there." He looks at Sunghoon. "But, honestly, I really don't have the good experience in there." Ethan looks away then sighed.

"I know. Now, study and do the best you can. So that, you won't be thrown to your "jail" so called, "Philippines." Sunghoon chuckled then, lean to his notebook again. Ethan's father let him live in the Philippines for being a black ship in their family. Ethan wasn't studying hard and good in Korea. His experience in Philippines are unforgettable. He doesn't know what a new world he landed on. He studied in there.

In-short, he worked in the Philippines as a janitor in a mall and use his own money to support his needs. That was a punishment for him. He realized how hard to stand on his own feet. He realized how bad he was to waste his parents money for non-sense stuffs. Lastly, he realized how amazing his life in Korea. Rich, well-supported, loved and all attentions are in him that he just wasted.

That's why, he don't want to go back to Philippines to be punished. But, he wants to go back to build another business in there. With his own hard work and sacrifices. Not family supported but his own.

Ethan bought two cups of coffee that has a name, "Ethan" and "Sunghoon." While sipping the coffee. Ethan's father called. "Hello?" Ethan stoods up then walks to the window. "Oh yeah. I will be there. Yeah. 30 mins?" Ethan said while his forehead crampled. "Ok, I see. I'll meet you on the house. Oh yeah, I'll be there." He said while nodding. "Sunghoon, I need to go home. Emergency." He looks at Sunghoon while putting his things in his bag.

"Oh yeah. You can. Why are you on a rush?" Sunghoon's forehead crampled. "There's someone who wants to franchise Ramyeon House." He smiled. He put his bag on his back. "This is the beginning of Lee's success, hoon." He said so excited. Sunghoon smiled. "I'll franchise too, okay? Soon." Sunghoon winks. Ethan smiled. "Sure bud. I gotta go." He said while looking at his wrist watch then runs out from the dorm.

Sunghoon smiled as he imagined him and Etahn being successful together as Businessmen. He chuckled then shook his head. He just can't believe that, one year later he will graduate and will start to build his own business. He sips the water and jot his eyes back to the paper.

Hours later. Jake got home and Sunghoon is still studying. "Hey." Jake greeted as he put his bag on the sofa. "Hey. How's school?" Sunghoon asked while looking at him. "Fine and good hehe. I am still enjoying school, so, it's not that hard." Jake giggled then takes out the juice from the fridge and drink it. "You're just smart, Shim Jake." Sunghoon chuckled then lift his eye-glasses up.

Jake sat beside him. "What are you studying?" Jake raise his eyebrows. "Hmm... All of the subjects. I have an exam for tommorrow." Sunghoon sighed then sips the cup of coffee. Jake nods, then looks away. He saw a cup that has. "Ethan"? Who's Ethan? He held the empty cup. "Who's Ethan?" His forehead crampled while staring at the cup. "Oh! His a friend of mine. A friend from basketball." Sunghoon looks at Jake then smiled. "Ahh." Jake nods then puts the cup at the trash.

"Goodevening dad." He hug his dad. "Good. You're now here. The franchiser will be here in any minute." His dad pat his shoulder with a smile and left him. He looks at the mirror in-front of him then fix his necktie and tuxedo. He sighed. He follow his dad who is now in his office. "Dad?" He knocks the door. "Come in, Heeseung." His dad answered then cleared his throat. "Uhh... I just wanna ask." He smiled then sat at the visitor's chair that is infront of his father's table. His dad looks at him.

"Why do you want me to be on the meeting?" He let a little sigh out from his mouth and smiled. His dad chuckled. "Son." His dad stand up then walks towards him. His dad caress both of his arms. "I want you to take care of our business when you graduated and passed the board exam." His dad smiled and sat on the visitor's chair in-front of Heeseung. "That's... a v-very big oppurtunity, d-dad." He said while shaking. His dad chuckled. "Are you okay? Aren't you happy that you are the next owner of our business?" His dad looks at him.

"I am happy and glad dad. It's just that uhmm..." He stopped and looks down. "Hmm?" His dad sips the champagne. He looks at his dad, "What if I fail?" He sighed. "What if I can't run the business just like you?" He stare at his smiling dad. "Son. I know you can't fail me. I can see that you can make our business larger. Don't worry, I am here to guide you." His dad sips the champagne.

"You can do it dad. Just do it, I can't just rely on your guides." His forehead crampled. "Ethan. I am too old to run the business. I have the old strategy of running the business which is not good at this generation." His dad sighed. "And you have the new strategy of running a business so I want you to do it. As what I see on you. You are business minded. I trust on you. So, trust me and yourself." His dad smiled and raise the glass of champagne that signs, "Goodluck" or "Cheers".

"Mr. Lee, your visitors are here." The maid said  who's in the door then bows. The maid left. "This is the beginning son. Please, listen of what the meeting will be, for you to learn more." His dad stood up then fix its necktie. "For me to learn or you will sleep?" Heeseung(Ethan) chuckled. He stood up. His dad looks at him. "Both." They chuckled and walk their way to the dinning room.

The meeting started.

Jake and Sunghoon are having a dinner. While eating they're so quiet. Until, Jake broke the silence. "Hoon. Are you okay?" Jake's forehead crampled as he look at Sunghoon who is busy eating and not looking everywhere. Sunghoon stops then looks at him. They stare at each other. Sunghoon shook his head. Jake sighed "Hey, what's up?" Jake stopped eating. "Tell me. What's the problem?" Jake added then, caress Sunghoon's hand.

Sunghoon looks at him then the tears are starting to fall from his attractive eyes down to his rosie cheek. For the first time he saw the handsome face of Sunghoon being emotional.

Is he alright?
