Dolores was annoyed.

She looks at Camilo with a face. "Don't you think it was a bit too soon to hold their hand?" She asked Camilo. "You tried to hold their hand?" Mirabel butts in.

"Well, at the time being it was a good idea with the mood." Camilo spoke, making his sentence sound more like a question.
Dolores shook her hand, her index and ring fingers pinching the bridge of her nose while her middle finger laid in between her eyebrows.

Camilo looked at his sister with the feeling Dolores was trying to flip them off.
He brushed the thought aside when Mirabel poked her head in between the siblings. "Well, have you earned their trust yet?" She tried to change the subject.
Camilo's lips pressed together as he smiled,

"Yes...?"

Mirabel and Dolores turn and look at each other with the same expression. "He's hopeless." They thought at the same time.

...

"What're we doing?@ Camilo asked as Mirabel and his sister hid behind a wagon looking for you.

"Shush, we're helping you." Mirabel whispered, her eyes were glued to the view in front of her as she searched for you.

"Helping how? By stalking them?" Camilo asked with a disgusted tone, he began to walk away when Dolores shouted out that they found you.

You walked down the road, your nose buried deep in the book you were reading trying to finish the book before you got to the local library. You had another two books under your arm, you held it tightly as you walked, not paying any mind to the people in front of you.

The three watched you stop and struggle to turn the page, almost dropping a book during the process.

Camilo blinked before realizing that he had been shoved out of their hiding spot. Shocked, he turns to the two, "Wha–"

"Go help them." Dolores said, nodding her head in your direction.

...

"Come on" You mumbled trying to turn another page. You were one chapter away from finishing the book and one block away from the library. The library was closing soon and you needed to hurry up and return the books before they became overdue.

"Correct me if I'm wrong."
You look up to see Camilo peering over at the book you were reading before looking up at you. "You seem to be struggling." He pouted and nodded his head.

You stare at him with a blank expression. You snorted as you gave him a crooked smile. "No shit." You say finally turning the page, you feel a book begin to slip from underneath your arm. "Crap!" You yelled as the book began to fall, Camilo caught it and held it in front of your face.

"Care for some help?" He asked with his signature smirk on his face.
You parted your lips as you sighed, closed your lips letting the rest of the air come out through your nose.
The two of you held eye contact, you narrowed your eyes trying to see if he was being legit or not.

You gave in handing him the other book, "Okay" You grinned as a bright smile appeared on Camilo's face grabbing the other book.

He walked beside you every now and then glancing to the side to watch you read.
His face softens watching you be so concentrated on the book in front of you. The way your lips lightly pressed together, how your face would twitch when something would happen in the book.

He turned and faced forward letting you read your book. He looked around noticing things he hadn't noticed before since he was always constantly helping out, he never got to notice the same designs to the house. The graffiti of his family that decorated the walls. He wondered to himself how long it must've taken to make such things.

You look up, deciding to take a short break from your book.

Camilo catches your eye as he spins around. You watch him amazed at everything his eyes lay on. You raise an eyebrow with a smile. Had he never been to this side of town? You wonder watching him with his lips parted, eyes bugged out.

There was a warm feeling in your chest as you watched him look at the graffiti along the walls, the vendors, or the street games going on as he walked past all of them.

Camilo turned and looked at you, embarrassed he looked straight ahead clearing his throat as a blush dusts his cheeks and ears.

"Assuming that you've never been to this part of the town, or you just don't pay attention to what's around you?" You asked, nudging the boy.
He chuckled, "Normally since I'm so focused on trying to be useful to this town, that I'd forgotten how beautiful it is." Camilo smiled as he looked around before looking into your eyes. "I was so focused on trying to be helpful that I'd forgotten how it feels to take a break." He smiled, "Until I met you."

You blushed, eyes slightly wide, lips parted as you started into Camilo's hazel green eyes.
Your face flushed as your bottom lip twitched as your lips closed.
You noticed Camilo slowly lean in, you blink looking away continuing to read your book you began to walk again picking up your pace with each step you took.

Camilo's expression dropped, his grip on your books tightened as he watched you walk away. He let out a sigh looking up into the sky, he closed his eyes before glancing to the side eyeing you as you walked.
He regretted his decision, sure, but he wasn't the type to be patient either.

______

I like to think that sometimes, depending on what the subject is, Camilo doesn't know what the word "patient" means.
