It wasn't hard to sleep during the night, since (y/n) had that observation situation, watching the madrigal family in the middle of the night. When they awoke, they rubbed their face and checked the clock. It was 3 p.m. Shit. Well, it's fine, they have three hours to mentally prepare themselves. Not as much as they wanted, but it's okay.
They did their usual daily routine with some extra miles since they don't want to seem like a slob to the madrigal family. Did Camilo tell everyone they were coming over? They don't just want to pop up and have nobody know they were coming. That would be... Unbearable.
"Oh hey, Camilo invited me over."
"I didn't know you were coming. CAMILO. DID YOU INVITE SOME WEIRDO FOR DINNER."
.....That would be horrible. Absolute agony. (Y/n) thought they should come at least a little bit early, just in case they decide to start early. They wouldn't want to be late and everyone is already sitting and eating.(Y/n) always over complicates situations. Stop thinking about if everyone's going to stare at you eat or drink or breathe or think you're weird because of how you act. It will be fine. It'll be totally fine. Everything will be totally okay... It might not be fine.
If things go wrong then (y/n) can just never show their face near the madrigal family ever again. Who even sits down at a table and talks to family while they eat? Maybe most people... But it's still weird. Who likes watching people eat? It's horrible.
(Y/n) tries to think if they should bring anything. If they bring they're bag it would be something to hide their arms with. But also what if they think (y/n) is trying to steal from them. Don't bring it. What should they wear? Why does it even matter, it's not like this will become a daily occurrence. Or even weekly. Monthly. This won't happen again. At least for a while.
It doesn't matter what other people think of them, they left those emotions behind in the past. It was 4:45 and (y/n) decided to head out. The walk from their house to Casita wasn't too bad, but again, they don't want to be late. Either early or late, there is no such thing as right on time. That's what they're father always used to tell them when they went out. They put on the best outfit they had in their closet. They don't know why. They have no one to impress. But it's been a while since they've been to someone else's house, so maybe that's why.
The streets were as usual, less busy than yesterday though, and (y/n) was starting to get nervous. Being social wasn't their strong suit but sometimes they can pull through. Just keep to yourself, only speak to Camilo... If you have to. Thoughts ran across their mind until just over half an hour later they arrived. They didn't know what time it was, since they didn't have a watch, but it couldn't be that late.
(Y/n) held in a breath and knocked on the door. This is stupid. Go home. But that would leave Camilo disappointed, and what if they bump into each other again in the future. Everything is awkward. The doors open with no one behind them. Do they just stand there? Do they walk in? Luckily, they don't have to decide. A buff woman walks in front of them and stares for a second.
"Um... Hi?" (Y/n) says.
"Are you the person Camilo invited?"
"Yeah. I am." Don't stutter.
"Great! Come on in." The tall woman grabs them by their shoulders and picks them up with literal ease. Luisa.
They remember her from the public singing next to Mirabel. She's her sister. She puts them down in front of them and yells.
"Camilo! Your guest is here!" She looks at (y/n) and mutters softly, "a little early too."(Y/n) tries to look for a clock in the open space when Luisa walks off to another room. Camilo comes downstairs, passing a few magical doors on his way.
"I honestly thought you would chicken out and stay home." He says.
"That's a wonderful greeting."
"Isn't that your sense of humor?"
"Yeah, it is. Surprised you caught on so quickly."
"You don't have a hat or bag to hang up?"
"Uh, no. Left them all at home."
"Okay, follow me. I'll introduce you to the cook."
