╚═══*.·:·.☽✧ ✦ ✧☾.·:·.*═══╝Through a grand window in a hallway close to your conjugal bedroom, you looked at the horizon as the sunset sparkled on Aogu's castle silhouette. At each second you were getting closer and closer to your native land, the one you left behind a year earlier. You weren't impatient to rest on Aogu's land once again. It's people only sees you as a chief. Your parents only see a tool in you. You acted as such most of your life. You got tired of it. The soldiers were on your side. You weren't impatient to rest your feet on this land once again.
"There you are, (y/n)-sama."
The voice was sweet and reassuring: Cosette's.
"Judge-sama wants you to meet with everyone outside. We've almost arrived."
She was right indeed. Before you knew it, you arrived at the castle that saw you tremble as you grew up under explosions of bombs. In the hall, you learned to loathe stood women you grew to hate.
"My swan!"
By her side was your brother and father.
"Mother," you stated coldly. Birds can bite, dear mother. Then you looked at your patriarch. "Father." That man, silent as always, simply nodded. "(b/n)", you smiled nervously. He was acting just as nervous, playing with his rings. What is it that we must talk about that is putting you in this state?
And when you learned, you wanted to forget it. "I am unable to produce an heir."
The whole world seemed to crumble under you as you fall in your brother's chair. "You're infertile?"
"Yes, you understand what that means, don't you?" he whispered.
Your two sisters were queens so their children were all in lign to a direct throne. You married the fourth son. You not being in line to any throne meant that your firstborn, daughter or son was the follow-up heir to Aogu's throne and here, at Aogu, the people had their words before the coronation. They had to like the child and for that to be possible, the child shall feel. This was going the opposite way Judge wanted but not totally against yours.
"Who knows?"
"Mother and father are aware. I believe we shall discuss the matter in private later."
"Private?"
"This private includes you, Yonji, his father, our parents and I. The others don't need to know for the moment. Do you agree?" he asked as he kneeled down and grabbed your shaking hands in his.
After what felt like an eternity, you nodded slowly as your brother embraced you warmly. "I am so sorry (y/n)."
"Don't be ridiculous. You can't control that you fool."
You both stayed in each other's arms for a few more minutes.

(Timeskip)
★。/|\。★The mealtime was animated. Nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law and it goes on. Everyone talked but you were dead silent and that didn't escape the man that tolerated you for the past year : your husband. He grabbed your hand under the table and leaned closer to you. "What's going on?"
"I'm just nervous," you lied.
Since when did he become so considerate?
"What's going on?" he repeated more harshly as to let you know that he'd know if you invented another lie.
Since when does he know me so well?
"Now's not the time to talk about it. Later."
That later never came as your mother urged both of you to go to her office at this instant. She said it with a very delicate and warm voice but her impatience showed through her stretched lips.
Under the stress, you grabbed the green-haired hand and squeezed it hard as your mother slowly explained the situation as your father, useless as always, stood there, silent. A cold "What?" was Judge Vinsmoke's reaction. Yonji's was much louder as he mumbled and asked questions.
"We will be toppled otherwise!"
"This wasn't in our agreement."
"I never calculated that my one and only son would be infertile! Tell me, what will you do if your first son happens to be infertile!"
"Mother", you squealed as you pushed her away as she gasped, outraged. "Please allow me to reformulate it in a diplomatic manner." You took the deepest inspiration of your whole life and you set yourself up in a speech that you hoped would be the most eloquent of your entire life. "If our people get mad, it might be the end of us. The rich merchants are people. The servants are people. The military are people. If our two kingdoms are unable to compromise on this subject then this marriage will have been useless and you will lose all the benefits at the time of my brother's death. Hundreds of weapons that will undoubtedly help you reach your goal of expanding your influence throughout North Blue. For the child to take over the kingdom as a future heir, the people must accept it and such a thing will not be easy given Germa's reputation. The people of Aogu want a leader with whom they will feel close after a decade of war. A war that ended a few years ago. They will judge hard, and if this child is impenetrable, be sure that they will reject this indirect heir. I doubt you want that. With all due respect, my dear father-in-law, I am begging you to think objectively about all eventualities. I am more than confident that we will find an agreement."
His gaze didn't leave you as you talked and it was a good sign. He listened to you. Vinsmoke Judge wasn't one to listen to what someone had to say out of politeness. If he listened, he thought that individual was relevant. You didn't know when you could have risen in his esteem, but you could have cried of joy.
Your mother wished your family would survive. Your father-in-law dared to listen to you. Everything felt on point.
"On this, I think it would be wise to let you discuss between leaders," you concluded.
You left followed by Yonji and (b/n) who both seemed to agree with you. The first, grabbing your hand once the door closed behind you.
