It’s Monday, the first day of the second semester and I’m going to be that new girl, the subject of every conversation for the next two weeks. I leave the comfort of my sheets and make my way towards the bathroom.

A shadow passes outside the sliding doors of my shower.

I ignore it, finishing up quickly.

It passes again.

I reach out for my towel.

 It’s not there.

“DAMIAANNNN!” I yell, my hands balling into fists.

Damian and Adrian burst into wild laughter in my bedroom.

“Bring my towel back here you squirts!!” more laughter, then slow footsteps. A small figure appears outside the cubicle.

“Damian…” I start.

“Nope.” A little voice replies, giggling. I grunt in annoyance.

“Adrian! Put my towel down right now!” I say raising my voice a little. He continues to laugh.

“DROP IT!” I yell. And he does.

Right in the toilet.

I scream in annoyance, saving the towel before it’s totally drenched.

“GET OUT!!” I scream grabbing them both by their shirt collars, still laughing like bloody, retarded seals. They squirm in my hands until I let them go, sprinting down the hallway, laughing and screaming.

I storm back into my room, flinging my wardrobe door open. I pull out a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, pulling my socks on as I brush my hair out. I sling my backpack over one shoulder, picking up my shoes and my jacket on the way out.

I skip down the stairs, two at a time, before flying off half way down and landing expertly on my feet. Dad was already in the kitchen cooking breakfast. He had decided to stay an extra month to ensure we settled in nicely. The new maid would be coming in next week.

I looked down at the large plate of bacon and eggs, with pancakes on the side and the tall glass of orange juice, dad set out for me. I pulled my chair out, walked around and began to sit, screaming suddenly when I realised there was an emptiness where my chair used to be. I landed hard on the floor.

That was definitely going to bruise.

I glared up at the culprit of my misfortune. Damian. Nothing was going to kill my mood today. I stood up, pulling my chair in and sitting cautiously this time.

I returned to my breakfast to find half my bacon and eggs gone, one pancake and literally a drop of orange juice left. Adrian grinned at me with his cheeks stuffed with food. Nothing I reminded myself.

I finished the remains of my breakfast. Dad finished soon after me and we all piled into the car. The twins pulled my hair all the way to school, asking me questions ranging from why the sky is blue to why I got to wear bras and they didn’t.

Dad tried his best to keep a straight face with that one.

We finally got to Oak Crest.

I followed dad through the entrance of the school.

Thankfully, he left the little demons in the car. It was still early so the halls were still scanty. I waited in the reception area while he sorted out my documents.

He came back about ten minutes later with my timetable, my locker combination and a few lunch passes. He left soon after that.

When I left the reception, the halls were filled with students. People pointed and stared as I walked towards my locker. This was it, my first day.
