Song: Honesty by Billy Joel (this will be the song for part one and two)

Charlotte's POV

After reviewing for an English test and my presentation for History class, I put all my school items in my book bag and set that aside my desk. I took a glance over my desk seeing the contents; pens, pencils, various notebooks and notepads with scribbled thoughts and notes to self. Then there was the two ugly colored envelopes with the "truth" about my parents accident on that night in March. I kept thinking to myself that I shouldn't open and read the sources of information collected on that tragic evening. Then again, what I was told at a young age was more or less "sugar coated" if you will. I remember that day, I was 13 and the police officer who came to Mrs. Joan's house that night came to visit me at Aunt Jinny's.

Flashback-5 Years Ago

It was a warm summer day in the middle of June. School has recently gotten out for the summer. I was out on the porch, laying on a lounge chair watching Joey and Anna run around. Aunt Jinny, came out to the porch and sat next to me. She had four classes of her refreshing lemonade.

"JOEY! ANNA! LEMONADE!" she called out to them. Hearing the word 'lemonade' got them to us quicker than any other word; besides 'candy'. The two of them sat in their kid outdoor ffurniture, just far enough for Aunt Jinny and I to talk.

"Were gonna have a visitor today Char." she said to me looking at her glass.

"A visitor? Who?" I ask curiously.

"Remember the cop who came that night when your parents dies? To Mrs. Joan's?" she asked.

"Yeah. What abou-" I had to stop mid-question to see him, the police officer standing at the gate by the porch. He was not in his uniform, like he had on that night. He was in normal people clothes. He walked up to Aunt Jinny and I.

"Hi Charlotte. Remember me?" he said to me. I simply nodded and had a sly smile on my face.

"What brings you out here officer?" I asked in a polite manner.

"Mr. King is fine Charlotte. And I'm here to talk about your parents accident. Your aunt thought since you were old enough to know what happened that night." He said to me.

Aunt Jinny excused herself, gathered Joey and Anna and went inside to get washed up for lunch time. Which left me and Mr. King out on the porch.

"So what happened?" I asked, so straight forward.

He took a deep breath and started, "The weather was bad out that night. It had snowed heavily that morning. So during the day, the snow melted, but when night came, the temperature dropped and made patches of black ice on the roads." He took another breath. I sat there listening to him. "Your father was driving; driving to fast I might add, and when turning the bend of the road, the car lost traction, which lead to the car losing control and crashing into the wall."

I didn't know any of this, nothing. I sat there with tears starting to form from my eyes and slowly, one by one, the fell into my lap. Soon I lost control of my emotions, I went to hug him and cried in Mr. Kings arms. I must have cried for a good hour before he sat me down again to speak.

"That's what happened. Charlotte. Your dad lost control of the car and hit the wall head on. They both died on impact. Another couple witnessed just the impact of car to wall and called 911 right away. I couldn't save them Charlotte, no one could have. They were gone when I arrived." He told me.

I sat there taking in this new information about that night in March. Now I know why Mrs. Joan cried and held me saying 'Im sorry'. I understood now.

"I know its a lot to take in, but it is something that your Aunt Jinny and I thought you should know. Joey and Anna don't know anything about this. They just know that mommy and daddy are in heaven and with god; a better place for them." Those were the last words he said about my parents accident.

After that talk, Mr. King joined us for lunch and flirted with my Aunt. I didn't much for the rest of the day. The information was still to new for me to even think of how to organize it and process it.

Present Day- Charlotte's POV

At that time, I felt Mr. King's explanation was 'sugar coated', but the more I thought about it, it kinda really wasn't. It was just enough information to make me cry, but at the same time it was the "truth" from the man who came to Mrs. Joan's house in March that late into the night.

After about an hour or two of contemplating I finally decided to open the still nasty, ugly, yellow envelopes and surface the contents waiting to be revealed to me. And what I read, the pictures I saw and some of the left over evidence in the zip-lock bags; I had to step back in utter shock on what I had discovered... The Real Truth.

A/N: I know! Left you hanging again! Haha! But in all seriousness; i cried writing this chapter. Can you imagine being 13 and being told how your parents died? OMG!
