chapter 5: episode 2 pt 1

Natsuki pov

I woke up in the middle of the night, hearing Darius and Kenji speaking in the lounge.  I got out of bed, and walked towards Kenji "I knew you would get into trouble, but on your first day?You must be really stupid kenji. And why did you drag Darius into your mess? Idiot." I walked away from kenji and sat on the floor by the door. " You idiots woke me up" I said, yawning. " Okay, maybe it wasn't my best idea. Look, I don't wanna get kicked out either." He spoke to Darius ignoring me completely "When my dad-" He paused. I brought my knees up to my chin, resting it on my knees, so I can still look at kenji "My whole life, I've been trying to make him proud. I-if he finds out that I messed up again, he might...finally give up on me for good.." He finished looking away from Darius. The door opposite me opened, and  Dave came walking in, Roxie following behind him " We gave Brooklynn a warning for sneaking out, but what you two chuckle heads did-" Dave started shouting. 

I moved my knees a bit closer to me, putting my arms on my knees as well, I don't like shouting, Roxie cut Dave off "Especially you Kenji! Your recklessness put yours, Darius and Dave's lives in danger!We should call your parents and tell them yo-" Roxie scold them out, getting cut off by Darius, "I-I it was my fault!I Jumped into the pit. Kenji was....trying to save me." 'Wait you guys jumped in a pit!I thought you just wanted to LOOK at the dinos not become food!' I thought . I moved my chin so that it can rest on my arms. How didn't they notice me yet? "Yeah, that's it. I-I was saving The poor..confused little kid." Kenji said, putting an arm around Darius. This all sounded really fishy if you ask me. Kenji saving Darius? How believable.

"I'm sorry, so Darius the dino-genius was saved by Kenji, the kid who dinosaurs went extinct because, and I quote 'Their farts turned the air trashy'?" Roxie said. I heard kenji whisper to darius "Prove me wrong yo." Darius then sighed, sqeezing the bridge of his nose with his hand. "Yeah, it's just that Brooklynns' account it is quite different from yours." Roxie carried on saying,getting suspicious "Pfft, Brooklynn. Look it was dark, she was confused,she needs glasses, haha, Vanity, am i right? What's important is that I'll keep looking out for the kid here.you're welcome." Kenji told them,but roxie wasn't buying it " mm-hmmm." Roxie said "Look, no harm no foul.let's chalk the whole thing up to experience. Lessons, friendships--this is what camp is about!Who's with me?!"Dave shouted the end part "Fine. But one more misstep..."Roxie warned them. 

" I- We, won't let you down." Darius told Roxie and Dave. Kenji put his hands behind his head and popped his lips,smirking. Roxie rose an eyebrow "So, what are we doing tomorrow?" Darius asked nervously "You'll see" Dave said  "now...Go back to BED and get some sleep." Roxie told them. Kenji got up pulling Darius up with him "Night,I guess." Kenji told Dave and Roxie, walking away. Dave walked out the room into another, while Roxie just stood there "Hi " I said  her, just above a whisper. She looked at me with a neutral face "Did you sneak out too?" She asked, walking towards me. "No. I heard Kenji and Darius talking so I came to see what was happening. They woke me up." I told her standing up "I was gonna leave but then you and Dave came, so..." I whispered softly "It's okay kiddo. Sorry that they woke you, but you should get some sleep too. Like your Pj's by the way " She told me, ruffling my hair "Thanks. Night." I said, walking to mine and the campers shared room. "Night." Roxie replied, walking in the opposite direction.

Once I got to the room, everyone  was already asleep. I climbed up the ladder, and got into my bed. It took about an hour to fall asleep.

I woke up before everyone, so I hopped into a luke-warm shower and got dressed for today
