Episode 4: Things fall apart.Pt 2

Natsuki pov

He jumped! Darius actually jumped onto Yaz and made us go forward. "It's working. It's working!" Darius shouts. We all go forward, but start screaming when the bars in the zip line breake, making us fall to the ground. The last thing I saw was a tree, and a sharp pain in my stomach and nose.

"Okaa-san!" A 5 year old Natsuki is heard shouting, running up and engulfing her mother in a hug, "Natsu!Gakkō wa dōdatta?(How was school?)" Her mother asks, pulling her up into her arms while walking to their car, "It was awesome!! We learnt how to pronounce different words!" The child laughs happily, jumping into the car. Her mom nods her head as the child carries on to ramble, not getting tired. driving into their garage, Natsuki spots her dad walking out, smiling brightly.

The small child runs up to her dad, jumping into her dad's open arms, "Appa!" The little girl shouts, throwing her arms around her dads neck as they all walk inside. Natsuki goes upstairs into her room to play with her toys while she waits for dinner.

"Natsuki! Time to eat!" Her dad shouts from the kitchen. She runs downstairs smiling at her dad, "Papa! You made Tteok-bokki and jajangmyeon! (My fav ) My favourite!" Natsuki sits down at the table next to her mom who gives her a bowl of rice, "jal meokkessumnida, itadakimasu" Natsuki says before digging in (Her mom is japanese and her dad is korean, she looks more korean though, and can already speak both languages including english). While eating, all of a sudden she smells smoke, "Appa, Why is there smoke?" Natsuki asks innocently. Her Dad looks at her mom nervously, getting up from his seat, "Wait her, I'll go check. " Her dad say, running to the kitchen. All of a sudden, Natsuki hears her dad shouting, "Mina-ya! Get Natsuki outside and come help me put out this fire!" Her mom puts her chopsticks down, throwing the last of Natsuki's food, which was a lot, into a lunchbox. She picks her up and places her outside, "Natsu, baby, wait here. I promise I'll be right back." Her mom runs inside, not noticing Natsuki follow behind her very quite. Natsuki watches her mom run through flames toward her dad, "Okaa-san! Appa! 괜찮으세요(are you okay)?!" Little natsuki asks, coughing at the end.

"Yah! Natsu! Go! 빨리 (Hurry up)!" Her dad shouts , coughing as well. Natsuki tries to walk forward but screams in pain as her arms burn from the flames, "Go! Natsu! Go!" Her mom shouts, making natsuki run to the front door, before she can make it, the door opens, revealing a fire fighter. He picks her up, rushing her ouside, "My parents are inside still!" She shouts, trying to get away from the fire fighter, despite her arms hurting badly, "You need to get treated. We'll see-" Before the fire fighter could finish his sentence the roof of the house collapsed, "Eomma! Appa!" Natsu shouts, bursting into tears. She gets into the ambulance,despite all the struggling.

A year later, Natsuki is seen eating cereal in the orphanage, "Suki! You're getting adopted!"

I wake up groaning, realizing i'm in a tree. Again. I lift myself off of the branch, making me fall onto the ground with a thud, making me grunt in pain. I lift my head off the ground, seeing everyone waking up slowly. I lift my self up to sit on my bottom (Idk what else to say, should I say bum? Ass? Idk anymore). I wipe my bloody nose and stand up slowly, placing a hand on my stomach. Kenji carefully climbs out a tree, Yaz helps Sammy up,Darius gets up, ben stays on the floor, "You okay? you're nose-" Brooklyn walks toward me, stopping because we heard a roar.

"Where the heck is that thing." Kenji asks, still climbing down from the tree. "It's coming." Ben nervously says, backing up to where Kenji finally climbs down from the tree.

"Shh. It could be anywhere." Yasmina says, helping Darius up as well. "The observation tower was that way? Or was it that way? I-" Brooklyn cuts herself off, sighing. "Okay, i'm sorry but I-" I hear Sammy say. I don't bother to look over, as I am helping Ben to stand up. I look over to Darius who gasps, "Where's-no no. My necklace! I left it in my bunk!" Just as he said that another roar is heard. Everyone gasps. Ben hides behind yaz, Darius hides behind Sammy, Brooklyn hides behind me as i pushed her behind me when we first heard the roar, while Kenji is up front pretending to be 'brave'. "We've got slightly bigger problems than--" Kenji got cut off by another loud roar. "We have to run. Now!" Sammy shouts. As she says that, "Grab someones hand so we don't get lost!" I shout, grabbing Brooklyn's hand.

Kenji grabs Ben's, Sammy grabs Yaz's and darius grabs onto Ben's as we all start running."Everything will be fine when we get back to camp." Darius says panting while running. We all jump over a log, me almost tripping, "Hey, Suki! You okay?" Kenji shout as we carry on running, "Yeah, I'm okay bro!" I shout, running faster.

We run through a bush to see the camp destroyed. We all walk forward, me running toward my bag I see on the floor, "Yes! It's still all here!" I say to ben who was clutching onto my arm. I grab my locket out the front pocket and put it on.

Ben and I walk toward the others, "Dave, Roxie, the others, they must've all gotten away." Sammy says. I nod my head, but look nervously at ben who approaches an upside down van. He gasps, "Not all of them." He turns around to walk away but trips. Sammy runs to check on him while Yaz starts hitting a radio, trying to communicate with the others.

"We're on our own." Yaz drops the radio on the floor. We all look around nervously, some, like me, in defeat. I sit down on the ground criss cross apple sauce with my elbows on my knees looking at Brooklyn who storms up to Sammy, "Give.me.my.Phone!" She shouts at Sammy. "What?" Sammy asks, tucking hair behind her ear. "I don't care about you sneaking into Dr. Wu's lab, I don't care about whatever you did with the skin samples you took from the sinoceratops-"

Brooklyn gets cut off by all of us,"Huh?" "What?" "What skin samples?" "What were you doing in Dr. Wu's lab?" "I don't even care that you stole it now. All I wanna do is call for help! Where is it?!" Brooklyn shouts. Sammy backs away nervously. I notice her touching her pocket, " I don't know what you're talkin' about! Skin samples? Sneaking into labs? You made up some crazy thing in your own dang head!" Sammy walks to stand next to Yaz, while I stand next to Kenji looking at Sammy, "Hey, back off! Not everything revolves around you and your phone! It isn't Sammy's fault you lost it!"

Yaz shouts at Brooklyn, walking toward her, " Can you guys keep it down. Besides, Suki has a phone too! We can call for help on there!" Ben looks over at me, I shake my head, "Sorry, the screen's busted. a plank must've fallen on it." I show him the bashed up screen. , "Shh! There's a big--" "A big scary dinosaur? Of course there's a big scary dinosaur! There's always, a big scary dinosaur!" Kenji shouts at ben, "And you're always a big-mouthed jerk!" Everyone then starts to shout at each other. "No one is getting out of here!" Ben pants angrily. I look over at him with a frown.

" We just saw people get eaten! We're alone, We're defenseless." Ben sits on the ground hugging his knees. "We're dead." He finishes.

"Listen up people! Ben's right. Well, kinda right. We can't be fighting at a time like this. Things aren't gonna go your way all the time.At any moment that dinosaur can come back and kill us all. So why, why are we fighting about a FUCKING PHONE?! Listen. Life is messy okay. Things happen, things fall apart. But we can't give up." I tell them as they were about to walk away.

Ben looks at me surprised, and so do the rest of them. They walk nearer to me. " Suki is right. We gotta pick up the pieces and keep going. And never give up." Darius finishes. I pat his back proudly, giving him a nod. "What about your necklace?" Brooklyn takes a step closer to Darius, "That's not important. I've got the memories right here." Darius says, patting his chest.

"What are we supposed to do?" Yaz asks Darius. "Go south to the park. Get help. And the only way we'll make it is if we do it together. We're a team, or we're nothing at all." Darius says. "Preach." I say, getting a playful hit on the back by Kenji, "Or, you know, we don't go back into the jungle." Ben suggests. I let out a laugh, "You can wait for the negligent baby sitters, But I'm with Darius." Kenji puts an arm around Darius.

"Wait, really?" Darius asks him surprised. "Dude, there's no way I survived a dinosaur attack..." Kenji gets cut off by a plank falling, almost knocking him out, "...Just to be taken out by cheap camp debris. Kenji ain't goin' out like that. We're going south, the rest of you coming or what?" Kenji walks away with Darius. "We're in." Brooklyn grabs my hand and walks toward Kenji and Darius, " Yeah." I say, while getting dragged by her. "We're in too." Yaz puts an arm around Sammy and walks with us. " Um but guys?" Ben says, "Come on brother. Wouldn't wanna die out here now would you?" I say, looking back to him while still walking with Brooklyn.

He runs up to me mumbling, grabbing onto my jacket so he doesn't fall behind.
