The old woman carefully bandaged the head of the guy I was with. She took great care to avoid waking him up.
"I'm truly sorry we mistook you for a rapist. We've had our fair share of criminals dumping dead bodies in our area, and perverted young folks parking in the dark to... well, you get the picture." The old man whose name was Guillermo explained.
"We may be simple townsfolk, but we are not judgemental. We do not discriminate people based on their sexual preferences. You and your husband are welcome to stay here for as long as you like. Perhaps it was fate that brought you here to evade your pursuers. You are safe here. We are a small closely knit community, a family actually. We have very little, but what we have is yours. This hut has been abandoned for ages, it is yours to use as you please." The chubby woman named Adella said, carefully standing up from the bamboo cot where the guy I claimed to be my husband lay.
"Thank you. You are much too kind. Please, accept this small amount as payment for tending to my hubby's wounds as well as rent for our indefinite stay here in your charming hut." I extended a few bills to them as payment.
"That won't be..."
"I'll take that! Thank you. If there's anything you need, don't hesitate to ask me. Our hut is the one near the lake. Guillermo and I will check on you and your husband daily. What time do you wake up in the morning? We eat breakfast here as a community. Just a small group... around twenty people all in all." Adella explained.
"Thank you, but I'd rather not leave my husband's side. Atleast not while he is still unconscious." I replied, looking at the handsome man lying on the cot.
"That's very sweet of you to want to keep an eye on... what are your names again?" Adella inquired.
"I'm Cas and my husband's name is..." I stared at the greek god sleeping before me, "and my husband's name is... Adonis."
