"Has either one of you seen Bubba? I find it strange that I haven't had a glimpse of his shadow since the day you both arrived."

Cas and I were silent. I pretended not to hear a word Dad said as I busied myself waxing the Wrangler.

Cas had a guilty look on his face, but turned away from me to hang the clothes he just finished washing when he saw me looking at him.

"You two are acting real strange. What's wrong?"

Still no answer.

"I asked you a question. Now I expect an answer!"

"Ask your son." I mumbled.

"I'm asking you!" Dad directed his attention to me, and I sighed before answering.

"Your son is a flirt." I blurted out.

"Oh for god's sake Cas, what did you do now?"

"He's imagining things!" Cas answered scowling.

"Am not! You keep smiling at Carter so sweetly, and he never lets a chance to hug you pass without him taking advantage of it."

"Is this true Cassie?"

"Dad, you know how Carter and I have been close. I'm not about to change that just because I have a hot and sexy husband."

"Flattery isn't gonna get you anywhere Cas." I grumbled.

"See? He's making a mountain out of a mole hill Dad."

"Cas! Adonis is new to this family. He doesn't know that Carter is my godson. And that I was present on the day he got married... to a beautiful fashion model."

"Wait. He's married? He's straight?" I asked, my hand froze in the process of buffing the jeep.

"You didn't ask?" Dad chuckled.

"I... well, he... they hugged... and I."

"Speak up son, I can't understand a word you're saying."

I rushed to where Cas was hanging the clothes to hug him.

"Get off me." He tried shaking my arms away.

"Never."

"Dad! He's choking me!" Cas screamed.

"Serves you right for making him jealous." Dad answered before turning away to go back inside the house.

"I'm sorry." I whispered into his right ear as I held him tightly.

"He's like a brother to me Adonis. I tried to tell you that Carter is a prankster, and loves to pull people's chains. He is however a sweet, and thoughtful guy who has on countless times helped Dad out of a tight bind. You just shut me out, and wouldn't give me a chance to explain."

"I'm sorry." I hugged him tighter.

"Don't you trust me?"

"I do. I do. It's other guys I don't trust."

"I'm really disappointed in you Adonis. You're too quick to doubt my feelings for you."

He shrugged my arms off, and left me there alone. I stared at the rag in my hand, feeling dejected, and sad.

How could I have doubted Cas?
