Episode 1: Rise of the Snakes

[M/n] sat on the on the soft purple covers of his bed, reading the new book Zane had recently gifted him, called 'Voodoo Queen.' He had barely even started the book when the door to his room flew open, revealing a slightly frazzled looking Nya.

"Lord Garmadon's returned!" She cried, before retreating to warn the other ninja. Tossing his book to the covers, he grabbed his weapons belt from his bedside table and raced after her using Spinjitzu on the way to change into his GI.

He caught up to Nya just as she arrived at the gaming room. "Guys, Lord Garmadon, he's returned! He was spotted approaching Jamanakai Village," she explained. They all froze for a second before scrambling over each other to get their weapons, as Wu, Nya, and [M/n] watched. After a couple of painful seconds of watching the ninja, Nya stepped forward and picked up Jay's nunchuck, passing them to the blue ninja.

"Uh, th-thanks, uh—"

"Hurry!" Nya interrupted, startling Jay.

"Okay!" The five ninja rushed outside to the dragon stables. As the doors opened, Zane was smacked on the head, causing [M/n] to let out an exasperated sigh. They all raced to their dragons.

 Alpha, a purple-feathered quetzalcoatl, crouched low to the ground allowing [M/n] to easily slip into his saddle. The two quietly watched the others fail to mount their dragons, tripping and dropping their weapons.

 'They are all out of practice,' Alpha murmured, using their Desmyaloú* to communicate. [M/n] hummed in agreement as he focused on Nya and Kai.

"Uh, can I help?" Nya questioned, as Kai struggled to climb onto his dragon, Flame's, saddle. 

"Sorry, sis, where we go, danger abounds. This is a job for the ninja," Kai stated proudly, leaning forward to grab his reins, only to realize they were out of reach. He gave Nya a nervous look, "Uh . . . uh, a little help? Heh–heh."

Nya sighed sadly, passing Kai the reins. She walked over to Wu, to allow the dragons to leave. Cole whooped joyfully as the dragons took to the sky.

They leveled out below the clouds, and Cole gave his dragon a pat on the head, "Just like old times, eh, Rocky?" 

"You guys believe what Sensei said about unlocking our full potential?" Kai asked, glancing over his shoulder at his sword.

"He may be onto something. I mean since we get these Golden Weapons, it's not like we ever had to use them. I wonder what they do," Jay wondered, pulling out his nunchucks to observe them as if they would begin talking.

"I, for one, look forward to the future. If there is more for us to accomplish, let it be," Zane affirmed, before glancing over at [M/n] who hadn't said a word the entire time, when he remembered that his friend had had his Golden Tessens for longer than they had, and had also used them before. "What do you think, [M/n]?"

[M/n] blinked, startled, as the four ninja all turned to look at him. "The legends all say that the five Golden Weapons created Ninjago. Besides, the weapons were made with the purpose of helping Elemental Masters tap into their Elemental Powers."
