"Grrrrraaahhh!!!"

The blinding sun rested on my face as I attempted getting a few more minutes of sleep before....the Harrodian. I could throw up.

Unfortunately, the sun wasn't the only thing that disrupted my sleep.

"Kas, wake up! Second day of school!" Mom yelled. "Get dressed, take a shower, Gran's got scrambled eggs cooking!"

I groaned even louder. Mom knew I despised scrambled eggs. I can't stand the gooey and slimey taste of the eggs in my mouth; just no. Nevertheless, I slumped out of bed and walked over to the bathroom to freshen up and dress into my itchy outfit. The water was ice cold as usual, but then warmed up quickly, and I didn't wanna get out. Until...

"KASSANDRA, IT IS 7:55, WHERE ARE YOU?!"

I nearly choked on the shower water. 7:55?! Shit, class starts in 5 minutes!

I turned off the water and attempted to dry as much of my body as I could in the next few seconds and put on my skirt, shirt, and pullover. I brushed a few strands of hair and ran downstairs, nearly falling down. My whole family was staring at me calmly, eating their breakfast except Grandpa, who was jingling his keys, ready to drive me to school.

"Ya ready, Kassie? Just grab some food first..."

I nodded and spooned a few bites of eggs into a bowl and stuffed it into my mouth. My mom took one look at me and shook her head.

"Tsk tsk...." she chided, "You need to be feminine, Kassandra. What will the others think of you when you've got egg hanging from your mouth?"

There was a bit of scrambled egg hanging from my mouth, and I flushed, licking it up. I tried to hold in my retch; these eggs made me sick. Sorry Grandma.

"Sorry," I murmured through my mouth full of eggs, "it won't happen again mom."

She sighed, and I waved goodbye to my family, grabbed my backpack, and stepped out with Grandpa, putting on my shoes. I opened the red vintage car door and sat in, tugging my backpack in with me. I briefly checked it to make sure all my homework was in it while Grandpa sped ahead to the Harrodian. I felt clammy. It's 7:58. I can make it...right?

A minute passed, and we finally reached my school. I waved bye to Grandpa, who exchanged one and put on his wei—I mean, unique sunglasses and sped off. Remember Kas, you have to be polite. It's a part of your character. I sighed heavily before entering the large building once again. I looked around. The corridors were long, white, and narrow with matching grey doors on opposite sides. Looks more like a testing lab to me. Ha.

My first class was English—third door to the left. Everyone was waiting in front of the door. I guess the teacher hadn't arrived yet. I'm saved! Not late after all! My eye caught blond hair and eyeliner and, to add to the monstrous look, some dark green eyeshadow today. I let out a silent groan, nearly slumping down.

Virginia's in this damn class. I'm gonna be stuck with her for a whole hour! Fuck my life. And her. Well, she's got enough guys to do the deed with her, so...

"Hi!"

A hand rested on my shoulder, and I screamed, turning around to see a smiling Finn. I blushed and scowled.

"Stop that! First, let me see you and then say hi."

Finn shrugged. "Ok. Now you see me. So, hi."

I rolled my eyes, and he chuckled.

"Finnegan, you're such a smart aleck."

"Don't call me that," he gritted between his teeth. I bit my lip to prevent laughing. His serious expression immediately faded back into his cheerful one.
